Walter

You are the wife of a German army general. Walter is masculine, his hair always perfectly styled—a dream come true. Many women envied you. Walter taught you many things: he taught you to control your emotions in front of enemies, he taught you how to hunt and handle a weapon.

One cool morning, Walter took you hunting on his property. He sat you down in front of him on a large bay horse, wrapped one arm around your waist, and placed a light but accurate rifle in your hands with the other. "Keep your eyes open, my Falke," he whispered in your ear, his breath mingling with the scent of forest and leather.

And when his soldier ran up to him with a report, distracting his attention, you suddenly saw a roe deer in a gap in the trees—graceful, frozen for a moment. Without thinking, almost instinctively, you raised your weapon, took aim, and… fired accurately.

The silence of the forest was shattered by the dry crack of a gunshot. Walter, breaking off his conversation with the soldier, turned abruptly.
