Relationships : Wenona

Wenona is the first to suggest that Wolfgang brought the knife to the secret meeting not to protect himself but rather attack. It could mean that she's been distrusting of him from the start.

Relationships : Ulysses Wilhelm

Ulysses and Wolfgang used to be a bunking partners for a short amount of time. Wolfgang made a terrible roommate, trashing the room and walking into the bathroom without knocking. Because of this, Ulysses switched bunk partners with Grace.

Relationships : Diana Venicia

Diana looks up to Wolfgang and adopts his philosophy after his passing. She couldn't bring herself to hurt him when he attacked her with a knife and feels remorse that she couldn't save him.

Relationships : Eva Tsunaka

Wolfgang has been distrusting of Eva ever since she spoke out about Ultimates being more inclined to kill at the end of the Prologue, completely disagreeing with him on his stance being the exact opposite. He is unforgiving of her mistakes and encourages the group to ostracize her due to her beliefs and fake Ultimate Liar talent. Wolfgang never attempts to mitigate the student's attempts to bully her despite the morals he preaches, including at the height of her bullying when his classmates make fun of her actual talent. This, of course, leads to Eva being pushed into a corner, making her not only distrust the group but also perceive herself as a potential target for the first murder because of how disliked she is by the majority of the group. Which then led to her targeting Wolfgang and starting the Killing Game.

Relationships : Grace Madison

Wolfgang develops a close bond with Grace during the killing game. Grace was the first person Wolfgang met upon awakening after the kidnapping, and she even spared him from her attack despite her immersive frustration. Later, they bunk together after Ulysses rejects Wolfgang as his bunking partner due to his discourteous habits (such as walking into a bathroom without knocking and leaving his clothes lying in heaps). When Wolfgang lies about being sick in the morning, Grace decides to stay by his side until he gets better, and it takes a lot of persuasion from him to make her leave.

Grace becomes protective of their shared room after Wolfgang's passing, not wanting to disturb his memory. She is also extremely vindictive and outspoken at the trial.

Relationships : Damon Maitsu 3

In the first chapter, Wolfgang tries to separate Damon and Eva from the group because of their conflicting opinions of the other Ultimates. He advises them not to come for the investigation while the other students look around the school, even suggesting a student volunteers to guard them. However, following his actions to make them a threat, Diana tries to lead the group into allowing the two into the investigation, saying they should all be working together and that their opinions don't automatically make them bad people. Due to this shift in perspective, the group agrees to let Damon and Eva in the investigation, with Wolfgang appearing annoyed at this revelation. Throughout the chapter, Wolfgang continuously jeers Damon any chance he gets, such as pressing him about the letter he received from Kai and being late to a meeting in the dining hall, especially while it was with Eva.

Relationships : Damon Maitsu 2

However, despite this, their relationship quickly becomes more argumentative once the Killing Game officially starts. Wolfgang tries to hold the Ultimates together by promising that no one here will ever commit murder, as they are all in charge of bettering society. Eva and Damon fight against this assumption despite almost everyone rallying behind Wolfgang. Eva claims that Ultimates have a clear motivation to murder, as their status will only give them more of a reason to resort to killing each other. Damon even states it's "inane" to bring the group together because "we're all Ultimates", as it's clear after he meets everyone that no one in the cast has the same goals. Wolfgang expresses confusion, as he believes every Ultimate has an obligation to improve the world we live in; Damon eventually goes on a tirade about how the title doesn't mean anything and their useless talents won't improve society in the slightest. Damon states that their only purpose is to leech off of public attention for their own goals. This stark contrast in beliefs and Damon's argument against Wolfgang results in a much more toxic rivalry in the onward chapter.

Relationships : Damon Maitsu 1

Despite Damon's sense of superiority over many of the Ultimates, he does seem to have some level of respect for Wolfgang. A major reason is that his talent as the Ultimate Lawyer benefits humanity on a much larger scale than the majority of the other Ultimates, at least on paper. However, Damon also admires his ability to handle others well, as shown when Wolfgang encourages Eloise to come out of hiding and stop being so scared, resulting in her mood taking a much happier turn. However, Damon is still unfriendly towards Wolfgang for the most part, as when he calls Damon a friend, the latter rejects this assumption as they barely know each other. In the same sentence, he bluntly remarks that Eloise likely doesn't want to know the others are stuck in the same situation as her, although his assumption is proven wrong when Eloise does end up coming out due to Wolfgang's words. On the other hand, Wolfgang still gives Damon the same amount of respect as everyone else he meets, showing any hostility to be one-sided.

Once the Trial for Cara's murder begins, Wolfgang and Damon's relationship becomes much more involved. Both of them take a major role when it comes to running the Trial and getting everyone on the right track, with Wolfgang even bringing up the motive before Damon does. As Wolfgang insists that the killer was a sadistic monster who didn't murder in self-defense, Damon ultimately decides to take his side. Through either logic or an emotional argument, Damon sways the cast into believing Wolfgang.

Personality 4

His harsh judgment of Cara's killer actions and more childish or arrogant side seen in chapter 1, may also be due in part how he grew up and what cases he accepts. With Wolfgang admitting he skipped a majority of the standard education track and started law school while he was still a teenager in order to focus on law in his first FTE. Therefore, possibly not acting on or showing the childish or arrogant mannerism that would be expected on someone his age, and that would have been dealt with or discussed in his normal age/education group. Leaving him with these mannerisms intact outside the courtroom, as nobody told him to stop or the harm of said mannerism. In regard to cases, he only accepts clients that he believes are not guilty as her told Damon in his second FTE. Meaning despite having won over 200 cases he has neglected the other half of a lawyer's job. That being ensuring a fair and thorough trial to his client even if they are guilty. Thus, leaving him with lack of empathy or understanding towards anyone he deems guilty, and their actions.

All in all, Wolfgang is a very polite person with good ethics, but he does have certain standards that he is very passionate about, and at times a limited world view due to how he grew up and conducts himself as a lawyer.

Personality 3

Wolfgang also isn't above hypocrisy: he holds other students to higher standards than himself, as remarked by Damon in the fourth FTE, with Wolfgang admitting he cannot always be the person he is in court. This may hint at his more childish or arrogant side, as seen from the way he played a part in ostracizing Damon and Eva from the group due to their conflicting opinions about Ultimates and their willingness to commit murder within the Killing Game. This side of him is reflected again as Wolfgang disagrees with Damon's idea to secure the pharmacy to prevent misusing its medicine. He says he trusts everyone will not misuse it, disregarding his concern and the apparent risk of leaving dangerous medicine unchecked. Leading to his hypocrisy, Wolfgang is not as trusting of his peers as he claims to be, as he lies to Grace about his sickness to attend a secret meeting with an anonymous person, even bringing a knife with him for self-defense. His negligence and two-faced nature ultimately led to his downfall as his killer, Eva Tsunaka subdued him using a syringe acquired from the same pharmacy he advised not to be protected, and he was killed as revenge for the harassment she faced by his actions.

Personality 2

Despite being so young, Wolfgang is a very accomplished lawyer, having successfully defended over 200 clients without ever dropping a case. Despite this, he only defends using truth and logic, no matter if it ruins his own case. Because of this, Wolfgang is shown to be a very honest person, with his bio even stating that he dislikes lies. As shown during Cara's trial, Wolfgang is shown to be a leader of sorts, making sure everyone stays on the right track by bringing up important points to discuss. Through this, he is clearly revealed to be a very intelligent lawyer who knows what he's doing.

In spite of all of Wolfgang's positive aspects, he does have his limits. During the Prologue trial, he gets absolutely furious over Cara's killer, as he views the crime to be unjustified and sadistic. While others argue it might have been self-defense, the sheer brutality of the murder makes Wolfgang think otherwise. As someone who has been through many criminal trials, Damon remarks during the Pathos Route that he would understand the criminal mind in a way others can't. Despite normally being level-headed, Wolfgang reacts angrily, and even lashes out at Jett for not remembering who Cara is, as well as calling out Wenona, questioning whether she even cares about integrity as the Ultimate Entrepreneur. Even though Wolfgang has never heard of this case before and everyone seemingly solved it, he wanted to discuss the killer's motives in order to reveal how unjustified the crime was and bring them to justice. Wolfgang may be a defense attorney, but there are certain crimes he can't even defend and are enough for him to get angry over.

Personality 1

Wolfgang is a well-spoken and kind-hearted gentleman. He is extraordinarily polite to everyone he meets, even those with more aggressive personalities like Grace. He is also protective and caring towards those that are more vulnerable. For example, he is quick to defend Toshiko when Grace starts yelling at her, as Wolfgang feels she's too young. Similarly, he encourages Eloise to come out despite her being scared of the situation. Throughout the Prologue, he is shown to be a very strong leader who watches over everyone and makes sure they feel safe.

In contrast to Damon, Wolfgang is someone who has high faith in all Ultimates, and sees them as people who improve society as a whole. While Damon is quick to judge those with talents of "little importance", Wolfgang seems to believe in each and every one of them. During his speech at the end of the Prologue, he stands up to the mastermind, claiming no one has the heart to kill, and that they're not going to drop their morals so easily. Even when Tozu argues that he has no reason to believe people won't kill each other, Wolfgang admits he doesn't know for sure but chooses to believe in them regardless. He is even taken aback when Damon suggests that not everyone here has the same goals, as Wolfgang thinks everyone is here to improve the world in which they live. Overall, Wolfgang is shown to be a very optimistic and trusting person, at least when it comes to his fellow Ultimates.

Appearance 1

Wolfgang is a young adult man of very tall stature and skinny build. Wolfgang has very pale white skin with purple eyes. He has medium-length black, almost purple-looking hair that's combed neatly back with a front strand of hair reaching down to his nose. He has a mole on the right side of his jawline.

He wears a formal black suit with a white vest and purple tie underneath, dark gray pants, and black shoes. Attached to the left side of his suit lapel is a sheep pin.

As is the case for every other participant of the Killing Game, he wears a Tozu Trinket on his left wrist.

Biography

“Finding such a successful lawyer at an age as young as Wolfgang's is an accomplishment of it's own right. Successfully defending over 200 of his clients without dropping a single case, this Ultimate Lawyer promises that only the truth and evidence will lead to a conclusion. An earnest and soft-spoken gentleman, he makes sure that everyone is fairly represented, that only facts and logic drive the discussion, even if at times it becomes counterproductive in the trials he participates in.”
