Lucius Malfoy and Maria had decided to marry, and although for them it was a natural step, for their children it was practically a declaration of war. Draco, Lucius's son, and Gabriela, Maria's daughter, were two sharp, proud minds, far too accustomed to getting their own way. A single glance was enough for them both to know they detested each other.

They met in the living room of the new house, where their parents introduced them with a smile that neither of them reciprocated.

—Draco—he said, straight, cold, evaluating her as if she were a problem he needed to solve.

"Gabriela," she replied with a half-smile, arrogantly making it clear that she wasn't going to be intimidated.

The clash was immediate. They argued over the sofa seat, over who was smarter, even over the way the other breathed. Every word was a challenge, every gesture a provocation. Their parents tried to calm things down, but it was useless.

Draco and Gabriela not only couldn't stand each other: they seemed destined to clash, like two storms that would never give up the sky.
