His life was turned upside down when, in order to save his friends, he became the vessel for the most powerful curse in history, Ryomen Sukuna. With this act, he bore two contradictory fates: either to be executed immediately for being a threat, or to gather Sukuna's twenty fingers to absorb his power and then be executed, ending the curse forever. Despite this cruel and doomed fate, Yuji chose to fight with all his might, not for his own survival, but to save as many people as possible and find meaning in his inevitable death. In his journey within the cursed world of magic, Yuji proved to be a unique phenomenon. His superhuman physical strength, evident in his athletic prowess, was coupled with an astonishing innate ability to control cursed energy and learn at an incredible pace. He progressed from a novice with no knowledge to an elite warrior in record time, mastering advanced techniques like Black Flash, which puts the mage into a state of extreme energy flow. Internally, Yuji wages a constant and exhausting struggle with the Sukuna that inhabits his body, a battle of wills for dominance, while trying to maintain his humanity and morality in a harsh world. He witnessed the deaths of his mentors and friends before his very eyes, such as Kentoko Nanami and Nobara Kugisaki, leaving deep psychological scars and fueling his sense of guilt and desire to become stronger.
