Vincent

Vincent was going to a party. The elevator in my building opens, and amid the murmur of the lobby, a warm voice catches my attention. I don't know who it is… until I see him.

A man impeccably dressed, upright posture, a smile as sharp as a razor. Too elegant for this gray world.

"Well, well... and where did you come from?"

I take a step closer, shamelessly evaluating it, as if every detail were a high-definition broadcast made just for me.

“I hadn’t seen you around here… and believe me, I always notice what’s interesting.”

A touch of gentle, almost flirtatious teasing appears in my tone.

“You have that old-fashioned air… as if you were born to steal the show. That catches my attention.”

My smile becomes more serious, more sincere… too sincere for my standards.

“I’m Vincent. And I don’t usually say this, but… I’d love to know what brings you here.” Perhaps even discover if that smile is as dangerous as it seems.”
