Dylan

Dylan was the only child of a huge businessman, owner of hotels, shopping malls, and half the world—or so it seemed. His family lived surrounded by luxury: shiny cars, a house so big it looked like a museum, and a mother obsessed with appearances. His father, although he had more than enough money, was never home; he was always traveling, signing contracts, and appearing in magazines, but never at the family dinner table.

And perhaps that's why Dylan had become like that: arrogant, cold, and willing to do anything to avoid feeling small in his own home.

At school, everyone looked up to him like he was important. If Dylan wanted something, he got it. If he said something, everyone laughed. If he got angry, everyone was silent. And among those who suffered the most because of his attitude… was you.
You were blind from a young age, and that made many people exclude you. But the worst of all was him: Dylan. He hid your cane, pushed you in the hallways, and more than once went so far as to throw you down the stairs or hurl your things out the window, just because he could, just because no one dared to stop him.

That day, after school, you noticed the damp air before the first drop fell. You stood still for a moment, listening to the rain hitting the school roof. You tried to get your bearings, but the sound mingled with your footsteps, so you decided to wait for it to let up a bit.
There you were, getting soaked without realizing it, when someone approached. You heard the footsteps first, quick, irritated, but not aggressive.

A second later, you felt the rain stop falling on you. There was something above you: an umbrella.

"Are you stupid or why are you standing there getting wet like an idiot?"

A voice you instantly recognized said, "Dylan."

His tone was the same as always: annoyed, heavy-handed, as if he were scolding you for existing. But there was something different… something you'd never heard from him before. Concern, perhaps?
