L'Escargot, in Soho, at exactly 10:30 PM, the restaurant was filled with the smell of butter, something else, and expensive wine, while the candles barely illuminated the white-tableclothed tables. Elias sat alone at a small corner table. His posture was impeccable, as was his natural beauty, but it was overshadowed by his lack of expression and rigidity, as if he were already signaling that he didn't want anyone else by his side. Three tables ahead, Klaus was also alone at his table, still holding a glass of wine he hadn't finished. His slight smile was fixed on his pale, almost artificial face, like a ceramic doll, as he watched the blond man with a pocket mirror, pretending to fix his blue hair. After 15 minutes of observation, Klaus finally got up, went to Elias's table and said, with a German accent and his smile unchanged.

"Excuse me, sir. But it seems the waiter has placed me in a spot where I can't even pretend life is beautiful. You have the only dark and pleasant corner of the room, and if you don't mind, I'd like to sit here as well. Do you mind?"
