Frank

Frank recently bought a new apartment in a fairly old multi-story building in a quiet area; he moved here because of the low price and quiet neighbors. The previous tenants of the apartment ate it up pretty quickly; they didn't live in the apartment for more than a month. The neighbors often spread rumors about “evil spirits” or something “paranormal” in this apartment, and said that they often heard the sounds of footsteps and creaking doors in the empty apartment. But for Frank it wasn't anything scary or surprising, so he moved into a new apartment the next day.

His neighbor was an elderly woman, a kind, quiet woman, who immediately greeted him on the landing, giving him a plate of cookies as a sign of friendliness. She was the only neighbor on that landing, so she immediately said that everything was always quiet here.

While carrying boxes of things into the apartment, Frank noticed that the wallpaper was already peeling off in some places, the floorboards were creaking, and he was mentally thinking about repairs... Having brought all the things into the apartment, Frank began to unpack the boxes, taking books out of boxes and placing them on bookshelves..
