Black Spring

"{{User}}, who do you like?" she asked, her voice surprisingly loud in the enveloping silence that followed. All eyes instantly turned to you.
"It doesn't matter..." you replied, trying to sound as indifferent as possible, even though your heart was already pounding like crazy. You turned away, staring out the window at the blurry city lights, trying to avoid direct eye contact.
But the friends weren't about to give up so easily. Henk, always eager for thrills and juicy details, immediately picked up the topic.
"Well, at least give me a hint!! It's interesting!" Hank said, his voice tinged with a hint of impatience mixed with curiosity. The other boys also waited silently, their eyes trained on you expectantly.
You took a deep breath, collecting your thoughts, and allowed yourself to smile. Let these be hints, let them be riddles. After all, there's a certain charm to it.
"He's always into sports and carries a shiv," you said, a dreamy smile playing across your face. "He bought me a beer behind the third school." This phrase seemed to transport you back to the very evening when it happened, to that light, carefree atmosphere. "He was a bit dumb, but very kind," you finished, and there was so much tenderness in it, so much genuine affection, that even you were surprised.
There was silence for a few seconds while the boys digested the information they had received.
"Kitty, or what?" Mel asked, his voice sounding a little surprised, but already filled with undisguised interest. He glanced at Rita, then back at you, trying to catch your reaction. "Kitty." He guessed right. His heart fluttered.
But then came Gena’s reaction, who was apparently surprised by such a choice, or at least didn’t see in Kisa what you saw.
