Some of Abolish's episodes open with a dream sequence hinting to Abolish's true motivations for being in Oakhurst, as well as his life with his adoptive family.

He is the only human to survive Oakhurst, however he did become a vampire briefly in Episode 8 in order to bypass the beacons' rules and escape the town.

Cleo

Abolish was the only person to suspect Cleo of being a vampire after her turning, which he attempted to convince others of. Despite this, he bonded with Cleo on a mission when Pearl went missing and they searched for her. He told her of his belief that vampires are not innately evil, and that he wants to find a cure, gaining her respect. Cleo recommended the vampires turned everyone apart from Abolish, as he was too dangerous.

M(ythical) J. Sausage

Sausage was the first person Abolish met upon arriving at Oakhurst. The pair were friends, although Abolish was annoyed at Sausage's obsession with becoming a vampire. When Sausage achieved this, he believed that Abolish was so dangerous he would kill all of them if they turned him into a vampire or not.

Scott Goldsmith

Abolish first became suspicious of Scott after catching him eavesdropping on Apo, Sausage, and Martyn, and supported Avid's accusations of him being a vampire. Scott became worried about Abolish after noting his consistent presence at the town beacon and preparation of silver safe points around Oakhurst, as well as his belief he was the only 'civilized' member of Oakhurst. When Abolish destroyed their farm animals and killed Shelby, he and Scott fought. The encounter left Scott angry at Abolish, although he considered him too dangerous to do it outright, instead bringing up the idea to turn and stake him, believing that as a human at least three or four people would be needed to kill him.

The pair made peace with each other after the humans and vampires truced, with Scott visiting Abolish's parents grave and asking Abolish to make sure he never became evil again. He and Shelby were the last people Abolish spoke to before leaving Oakhurst permanently. However, after Abolish left, Scott admitted he still found him terrifying. Abolish kept his promise and was still checking on Scott in 2006.

Jack Von Pyroscythe

Pyro and Abolish became friends almost immediately and spent a lot of time exploring together. Abolish quickly became suspicious of Pyro after his turning after realizing that Pyro stopped carrying a torch at night. Despite this, Abolish continued to travel alone with Pyro on visits to the tombs until Pyro's identity was discovered by the town. After Apo had Abolish burn down Pyro's house, Pyro came to Oakhurst's border to confront Abolish, but they just had a civil conversation. Later, Pyro appeared whilst Abolish was exploring with Pearl and Cleo, where Abolish continued to be civil to him. When Pyro attacked Abolish to try and consecrate the town beacon, Abolish merely hit him out of the way then placed silver and chatted with him. However, the pair ultimately became enemies after siding on opposite sides, with Pyro even offering to kill Abolish as a way to ingratiate himself back in with Scott.

Owen

The pair initially acted neutrally to each other, with Abolish growing slightly suspicious of Owen being a vampire. When Legundo and Abolish caught Owen killing their cows, a distressed Owen told them he had to so he would not kill humans. Abolish was sympathetic towards Owen, stating he understood he did not want to kill humans. Owen stated that when the vampires returned, he would give Abolish and Legundo a chance to run. He continued this promise, consistently letting Abolish go whenever they met during fights. When Abolish attempted to protect Legundo, a desperate Owen accused him of taking things from him, before warning Abolish that he had to turn into a vampire to escape Oakhurst.

Abolish became interested in Owen's words in this confrontation, whilst Owen grew to perceive Abolish as large threat. Owen approached Abolish and the pair shared items and walked together, where Abolish's questions prompted Owen to open up about his history and Louis. Abolish thus opened up to him about the Veylocke family and his work as a vampire hunter, he attempted to convince Owen to help the humans by revealing that his family likely helped Louis before they left Oakhurst. Later, Owen approached Abolish and asked him to cure him. The pair crossed the map together, sharing more information about themselves, to a sanctified beacon where Abolish performed the ritual. Realizing that Owen intended to die, Abolish reassured him as he made his choice. Abolish made Owen a grave, stating that Owen finally got the chance to make a choice for himself.

Apo

Apo was one of Abolish's first allies, as they, Dr Legundo, and Pyro spent most of the first day exploring Oakhurst and the surrounding areas together. She would call Abolish intelligent and well adjusted. They also joked together by pushing Legundo into the beacon crypts on multiple occasions. Apo was the first person Abolish told about his mysterious deaths of his biological parents, and that it may have been vampires. The pair worked together to discover the origin of the books, with her believing Avid was to blame whilst Abolish attempted to convince her that the supernatural was involved. Abolish burned down Pyro and Apo's house on her request.

Apo unintentionally caused Abolish's breakdown when she changed the defences he placed by the town beacon. Despite their falling out, Abolish supported her after she was exposed as a vampire and opposed those that believed she could not be trusted. Apo and Abolish's friendship weakened as he continued to fight the vampires, killing Shelby despite her friendliness. However, the pair opened up to each other, where Abolish told her she was a good vampire, and she opened up about Cherri.

Drift

Abolish and Drift joined together in their support of Avid in the towns scepticism to his belief in the supernatural. The trio would often covertly meet up to share theories and plan on what to do about the possible vampiric presence in Oakhurst. They made a pact to keep each other and the town safe no matter what during this time.

However, when Drift became a vampire, their relationship quickly soured as she sided with them. Drift became intimidated by Abolish, fleeing from him, whilst he was frustrated by her. She told the other vampires about her worries about him.

Avid

Abolish tentatively defended Avid's insistence about the presence of vampires, being one of the only people not to instantly dismiss him. However, Abolish ultimately kept his belief in the supernatural hidden unlike Avid, and only ever defended him in private conversations. Avid was his neighbour, allowing Abolish to overhear his conversations about his vampiric suspicions. Abolish privately approached Avid and Drift, where he expressed support for Avid and they swapped theories on possible vampires. After Owen manipulated the town into exiling Avid, Abolish joined with Shelby and Drift to find and help him. Avid and Abolish, alongside Drift, all met up in the former's house to further theorize, deciding that Scott, Owen, Pyro, and Shelby were all vampires. Abolish agreed to pretend he thought Avid was delusional to keep the vampires unaware. Abolish, Avid, and Drift all made a pact to protect each other and continue to fight for the town. They all continued to secretly meet up in the same room to share their suspects of potential vampires. Avid trusted Abolish enough to tell him that he and Elle were previously attempting to purposefully get infected by vampires.

Abolish made a comment to Avid about rethinking his knowledge on vampires after Drift's identity was exposed, unknowingly causing Avid an identity crisis due to him also being a secret vampire. The pair physically fought when Avid sided with the vampires and burnt Oakhurst, with Abolish seeming unbothered by his death.

Dr Legundo

The pair became allies quickly and spent a lot of time exploring and mining together. Despite their friendship, they were also consistently at odds due to Legundo's staunch disbelief in the supernatural. Legundo recruited Abolish to help him find the explanation for the reversing of the beacons. Legundo would often encourage the reserved Abolish socialize more, whilst also expressing the belief that he was the most capable against external threats. When vampires were confirmed, Abolish comforted the distraught Legundo, and agreed not to go to the castle with the others. The pair spent a lot of time together planning and sharing information they did not trust others with.

Legundo was the only person Abolish told about having found and hidden the third cure book, and the pair communicated in code to prevent others from learning the information. He suspected Legundo was lying about being a vampire after the doctor ate garlic, and spied on his conversation with Owen, yet still rushed to Legundo's aid when Owen attacked him. Legundo ultimately sacrificed himself for Abolish, so that the latter could leave Oakhurst as a human.

History

Abolish comes from a town called Blackwyn. He lost both of his parents at a young age to some sort of monster. He was put into a church orphanage, and then adopted by a Lord Morcant Thornvale, who was a friend of his parents. He came to Oakhurst after learning about his family bloodline and to pay respects to his mother and father, Reiah and Alaric, and to search for the cure books.[3]

In episode 7 Abolish reveals that he's a part of a shadow organization that works with vampires to eliminate vampires that are a danger. This is also the reason why he stood to the side most of the time and never drew too much attention to himself.[4] In episode 8, Abolish leaves Oakhurst and reunites with Morcant, revealing that his real mission was to find a cure for vampirism. His internal monologue revealed that much of what he had told others had been fabricated to achieve this goal, and he asked Morcant to finally allow him out of the butler disguise that he had worn to appear unassuming to the other townsfolk.

Abolish was still alive in 2006, due to being turned into a half-vampire by his organization, where he continued to keep tabs on the vampiric Scott and Shelby. He logged their activity, stating they were harmless, and considered saying hello before ultimately choosing to leave unseen by either.

Personality

Abolish is very quiet and observant, often present at important moments without anyone realizing. He successfully deduced the vampiric nature of several residents before the others, such as Pyro, Cleo, Scott, and Apo. He does not share much about himself to the other Oakhurst residents, only entrusting a few with the information of his adoptive parents and real parents, and not telling anyone of his connections to the supernatural. Abolish would also spend a lot of time exploring and amassing weapons and silver without telling anyone why. He had a particular interest in the books, often visiting the tombs multiple times a day to collect and stash them. Abolish often did not inform others of these discoveries, such as when he found the third cure book.

His reserved nature changed during episode 5, when Abolish lost his temper with Oakhurst, stating he had no ties to the place or reason to protect anyone. After an angry tirade, he told himself to 'get back into character' and went back to the quiet unassuming figure everyone else saw him as. However, he acted with an increased amount of nonchalance, not going on missions with the others and expressing a reluctance to help the townsfolk. Unlike many others, Abolish had no quarrel with the vampires, only wanting to avoid being turned to prevent filing more paperwork.

Abolish was ultimately considered the vampires main threat due to his unflappable and seemingly unkillable nature, being the only person they would actively avoid.

Appearance

Abolish has short, messy black hair. He wears a butler's uniform complete with white gloves. He has brown eyes. Abolish also has silver cross earrings that have some sort of red jewel set into them.

In 2006, Abolish has half-black half-white hair and sports a long black coat and white shirt.

Prompt

"I see it as vampires, some are good and some are bad just like people are. If you annoy a person enough they will get angry at you, that doesn't mean for all of you as some people and some vampires, as we've seen, attack for no reason." "Not every vampire is bad. Not every vampire is good. They have their reasonings, so..." "And honestly, you could've been too. You were just dealt a bad hand." "You chose your fate. And I think honestly, that was probably the best thing you could've chose for yourself."
