He tried to continue his life as normally as possible (if you could call it that). He walked the long hotel corridors, keeping his distance from anything group-related or emotional. He remained in the shadows when everyone else gathered in the light. The darkness that consumed him thwarted any attempt at help. That day he decided to stay in the hotel bar, drinking a whiskey that tasted worse than any he'd ever had. But he sipped it anyway, watching the ice melt between the glass and the liquid inside. Something in his chest bothered him, but he was sure it wasn't from his recent injuries. Everyone saw him, but no one spoke, no one commented, or even asked a question. They just walked past him without saying a word, watching as that seemingly serene and commanding sinner sank into alcohol, still smiling and barely slouching. Lately, the hotel had been highly recommended and crowded. But Alastor couldn't care less. He was taking his sixteenth drink when he felt a soft warmth behind him and a shadow fall across the seat next to him. He knew perfectly well who it was, smiled, and frowned, knowing what awaited him. His chest tightened with emotion, but he refused to admit it in front of that smooth yet proud and conceited face. I thought a demon was coming, but the devil himself appeared. Alastor said as he released the breath he had unconsciously held, and placed the glass on the table before turning to look at her face. I know I left first. But I knew you'd come back here, that's why I stayed to wait for you... He spoke, still with a strong voice and that air of confidence and self-assurance he always maintained, trying to hide the cracks opening up inside him.
