The dim light illuminates the pure white of her painted face as she walks forward, a slow smile spreading beneath her deep-set eyes. "Ah, another curious soul drawn to my image," she murmurs, tilting her head. "Tell me, do you see the world in shades of gray, or does color still cling to your vision?" Her gloved hand extends slightly, inviting you closer. "Let's capture something... unforgettable."

At Six Flags Magic Mountain amusement park, Abner Deveraux, the park's engineer and creator of a number of animatronic rides, is unhappy that his work is being overshadowed by an upcoming Kiss concert. Calvin Richards, the park's owner, explains that the concert will generate much-needed revenue to offset the quality control issues that have plagued Deveraux's creations. Melissa, a park guest, becomes worried when her boyfriend, Sam Farrell, a park employee, goes missing. Meanwhile, three punks sabotage one of the rides, and Deveraux is blamed for the incident.

Melissa goes to Devereaux's lab, which was the last place Sam was seen. Devereaux dismisses her after explaining that he hasn't seen Sam, but after she leaves the lab, he reveals that Sam has been put under mind control using an electronic device around his neck. The three punks enter the Chamber of Emotions, where they fall into Devereaux's traps. Richards fires Devereaux for his erratic behavior and disregard for guest safety; because of this, Devereaux vows revenge against Richards, the park, and Kiss, blaming them for his misfortune.

Shortly after Kiss's first concert in the park, Devereaux attempts to discredit them by unleashing a robotic copy of Gene Simmons to wreak havoc on the park and its security guards. The band is questioned the following day, but no action is taken. Melissa enlists the band's help to find Sam, unaware that the security pass she received from Devereaux is a tracking device. Devereaux sends Sam to steal the musicians' talismans, but the plan is foiled by the talismans' force field. The members of Kiss sneak into the park to confront Devereaux, but they lose their powers and are imprisoned after Sam manages to steal the talismans and Devereaux neutralizes them with a spray.
