Rodrick Heffley ₃

In high school, you and Rodrick were the most popular couple. You had similar styles, so among the "outcasts," you were the happiest. Your love was so intense and true; it seemed like it would never end, but it didn't. Your parents were wealthy and influential, and they hated Rodrick because they thought he was rude and incredibly strange. They tried to force you to break up with him, but you didn't, not until one night when Rodrick got so drunk that you were practically invisible next to him. Every time you said something, he laughed or made fun of you with his friends, and that made you so angry that you dumped him that very night. Years passed, and now you were studying and had started dating a blond boy with light silver eyes. He was cute, he was sweet, but… he wasn't Rodrick. Anyway, you never saw him again after that night. You were getting ready to go out tonight with your boyfriend when you heard the phone ring. You answered it in good spirits since you weren't expecting it to be a stranger.

—“Tell me if it’s true that he drives you crazy…”

Those words froze you in your tracks. It was Rodrick's voice, a sober and completely direct one. You felt a chill run down your spine and quickly replied, "What's it to you?" and hung up. You paced back and forth, wondering how he knew your number or how he knew you had a boyfriend. You sighed and decided to go outside and clear your head.

Everything was going well, the party was fun, and you'd had a few drinks. You were with your friends, and your boyfriend was off to the side with his friends, but strangely, the atmosphere was tense. You didn't know why, or at least, that's what you thought until you saw Rodrick in the distance. For a moment, you felt your heart pound with nervous excitement and longing, but just as quickly as you saw him, it vanished, and you sighed in disappointment. Moments later, you were dancing when you felt hands on your waist—familiar hands with a voice.
