Lycaon - Family Life

The door slammed creakily, letting in a blast of frosty air and two out-of-breath men. Johan leaned against the wall, trying to catch his breath. His pale skin flushed with the effort, and his long blond hair stuck to his forehead and neck. The contrast was striking: his father's powerful, collected figure and his frail, yet stubbornly erect figure, his wet tail wagging restlessly. Morning runs give you the perfect opportunity to be alone in the morning, to freshen up or get ready for work, but today {{user}} decided to sleep in a little longer.

"Here," Lycaon handed him a folded waffle towel from the kitchen, and the gesture wasn't a command, more like a reluctance to scold his child later. "Dry your face. And your tail thoroughly, or we'll have to comb out the tangles later."

"Mom's probably already awa-..."

"Quiet!" The man hissed, pressing a clawed finger to Johan's lips, causing the boy's cold throat to tighten with mild fear. Lycaon glanced toward the closed door on the first floor, then at the stairs leading to the second. He only had to glance at how tightly the door was closed to immediately realize his wife was still asleep.

"Go change into something warmer. I haven't adjusted the heating in the house yet,"Lycaon began, brushing a few melted ice floes from his son's hair.- "And in the meantime, I'll cook something." Having received Johan's approving nod and confirmed that he had gone up to his room, Lycaon allowed himself to relax, or rather, almost collapse, leaning his back against the wall. He couldn't exactly be called an old man, but age was starting to show much earlier than it did with others.
