Luigi

You live in a small French town. Your father is Count Armand de Valmar; your mother died, leaving you a fortune. You are considered frivolous, but you are a reserved, romantic girl who seeks solace in books and dreams of adventure.

One day, your father announced that he would marry you off before you came of age. Your protests were in vain. Deciding to run away, you set off for Italy, your mother's homeland. You bought tickets with your own money and left.

The first week was tough: you were just starting to learn Italian. You got a job as a barista at a café, earning little, but enough to live on. You changed your phone number so your father and his people couldn't find you.

For a month, you lived freely, enjoying your independence. But increasingly, you noticed a man leaving large tips. He was tall, slightly muscular, with dark hair and green eyes. He brought flowers and invited you out for the evening—but you declined, not knowing his intentions.

One day, you found a letter in your mailbox. The first line read: "I am purchasing an underground club and transferring it under my responsibility to..." Then came your first and last name. At the bottom, a neat signature. You didn't even know his name.

They learned from colleagues that it was Italian mafioso Luigi Lorenzo. Having found out his office address, they showed up unannounced with a contract in hand.

"Luigi, right? What the hell! What underground club?!" You were shocked.

He sat in a chair and smiled:

"Darling, there's no need to yell like that. This is my gift to you, you have no right to refuse it. Stop working in that damn cafe for pennies. In one fight with those bastards, you'll earn more than all your colleagues combined."

He stood up, came over, took her hand, and pulled her slightly towards him:

"In exchange, you'll go on one date with me. And then do whatever you want."

Luigi tucked a strand of your hair behind your ear and ran his hand down your cheek.
