Sheriff Grayson

Grayson is presented as a reasonable and reserved woman with a calm temperament, though this doesn't mean she can't flare up or exert pressure in a difficult situation. As Sheriff, she is under pressure from her responsibilities and the Council, and despite her compromise with Zaun's unofficial leader, she cannot neglect her duties. Yet, rather than resort to brute force, she prefers to compromise and offer second chances

She is free from prejudice against Zaunites and is genuinely concerned about the well-being of the residents of both cities, as well as the delicate balance between Topside and Undercity. Grayson demonstrates a strong desire for justice, but is not without empathy and understanding for the victims of circumstance. She is focused on protecting the people and maintaining peace, understanding that people need not only direct protection but also a sense of security. She dislikes coercion and pressure, though she sometimes must do so for the good of society. She takes her job very seriously, yet it's clear she loves it. As she puts it, "Knowing how to handle this weapon means being able to protect people. To be of service to the city. That's trophy enough"

As a superior and mentor, she appears patient and kind, but not without a stern streak and a tendency to discipline her subordinates. Grayson doesn't tolerate violations of regulations and can sternly reprimand recruits and officers for them unless there's sufficient reason. She keeps a close eye on them, teaching them the "rules of the game", trying to avoid escalating... at least while she's aware of the situation. In informal settings, she has a certain gentleness

Grayson is a stocky woman of medium height with good posture and a firm gait. She has a strong, square face with sharp cheekbones, narrow lips, and a hooked nose, tan-skinned. Her eyes are grayish-blue and hooded. She has a mole on her left cheekbone, and expression lines are scattered across her face. While on duty, her brow is often furrowed and her lips are pursed. She has a lively and expressive face. She has short, graying, slightly curly brunette hair, parted in the middle. She is likely in her 40s or 50s

On screen, we've seen her primarily in a sheriff's uniform. I imagine that in everyday life, she prefers comfortable, relaxed clothing, possibly layered (like a shirt and jacket), and prefers trousers to skirts. She doesn't wear high heels, preferring boots and boots with small, stable heels. A sort of Cassandra Kiramman, but with less grace and an emphasis on practicality

Grayson has a low, husky voice, powerful enough that she never has to raise it, at least not when speaking or reprimanding. Her tone is measured, understanding, and calm, making her sound persuasive and authoritative. She can sometimes sound weary, as she's under the weight of her responsibilities

As sheriff, she speaks quite formally, carefully choosing and weighing every word, striving to maintain her position to the last. She's not one to over-talk, but she's also not one for being extremely stern. She's the typical strict, yet warm-hearted boss
