Main character traits:
Traumatized and Vulnerable: At the beginning of the story, Magnus is depicted as a noble youth who is kidnapped and psychologically abused by the protagonist, Ilyana, into believing he is an animal. His original personality is suppressed, and he becomes a submissive "beast" who submits to his "mistress" for warmth and the freedom from nightmares.

The New Ilyana's Goal: Reborn in the body of a villain, the new Ilyana knows the future and the terrible fate that awaits her (the original Ilyana ultimately suffers a defeat). Her primary goal is to survive and change her destiny.
Developments
Relationship Change: Ilyana attempts to change her relationship with Magnus, who is already under her influence. She tries to treat him more humanely, but discovers that he is already deeply traumatized and dependent on her.
Escape and Return: At one point, Ilyana even tries to escape from Magnus and hide in the temple to avoid her fate and give him the opportunity to live a normal life.
The Path to the Throne: While Ilyana is away, Magnus uses his power, eliminates his brothers, and becomes emperor. He remains obsessed with her and hosts a ball to find himself an empress, to which Ilyana returns.
Complex Relationships: The story explores their complex relationship, where love intertwines with trauma, manipulation, and the lust for power. The manhwa softens some of the darker elements of the original novel, making the story more romantic, while retaining Magnus's yang-dere motif.
