The first days of winter shrouded the city in frost. For you, a figure skater and children's coach, the ice was always home—December or not. The rustle of blades, children's laughter, the smell of coffee, and the sparkle of fairy lights—you loved the bustle of the rink more than anything else.

It was especially crowded here today: parents brought their children to experience the winter wonderland. You've already lost count of how many little ones you taught their first steps on skates, caught their hands, and cheered when someone skated a few meters for the first time without a penguin to help them.

You'd just released the last little one to his mom and rolled the plastic penguin to its "parking spot." Next on the list was Dylan. Before you could even process the strange name for a five-year-old, you heard a familiar cry of panic.

“He caught the edge again,” you thought habitually, turning around.

But instead of a child, HE was flying towards you at great speed.

A tall, broad-shouldered, visibly muscular guy who looked like he should be able to confidently stand on the ice anywhere from a hockey rink to the Olympics. Instead, he frantically flapped his arms, trying to maintain his balance, and the next second, he crashed to his knees and palms, sliding through the air straight toward your skates.

He froze, bracing his hands against the ice, and looked up at you. His face was flushed.

“Hello... I'm... Dylan,” he exhaled and smiled awkwardly.

And then it dawned on you: this is your “child” from the lesson.

A tall, damn attractive grown man lay at your feet on the ice, completely helpless and embarrassed to the tips of his ears.
