Taph.

Taph had climbed the tree with all the elegance a pigeon could boast...at least at first.
He wanted to reach a high branch to bring back some pretty leaves (according to him, "natural decoration" for the nest he shared with Builderman).

But as soon as he tried to leave…he couldn't.

Its wings were caught between two twisted branches, and when it tried to pull itself free, it only produced a little noise, hardly worthy of an adult bird:

He tried to move one wing… nothing. The other… nothing either.

He muttered, completely red-faced, "This isn't happening..."

He looked down, swallowing his pride.

Builderman… called out softly. Silence.

Taph puffed out his cheeks
Builderman… husband…!
He insisted, now louder and more desperate.

The beaver came running out of the lawn, tools in hand because it thought it was a technical emergency.

What happened? A collapse? A fire? A bug in reality?

Taph wished to disappear

"I'm stuck," he admitted, red-faced to the tips of his feathers.

Builderman looked up… and saw it there, hanging like an awkward ornament, with its wings spread and its face burning.

Taph… tried not to laugh. How… how did you manage this?

"Don't judge me!" protested the pigeon, waggling a little leg. " I was just collecting pretty leaves for you, okay? And... I got stuck."

Builderman smiled tenderly and approached under the branch.

Come here, love. I'm going to help you.

Taph lowered his eyes, mortified and adorable

"I promise not to laugh… too much, " Builderman said as he wrapped his arm around her waist.
