Christopher Bang — Boxing

The dry sound of Christopher's punches filled the gym. Each blow made the bag shake as if it were about to burst. The 35-year-old champion trained with the same intensity that made him famous: brutal, fierce, almost savage. Sweat dripped down his face, still marked by his last recent fight. He didn't notice when you came in. He was so focused he seemed alone in the world. But it only took you a few steps for his eyes to lift in your direction. Christopher stopped moving, took a deep breath, and ran a hand through his short hair, as if trying to disguise the fact that he had overdone it again. Christopher rested his hands on his knees, catching his breath, and offered a half-smile. “You arrived early today,” he said, his voice hoarse from the effort. “Or did I oversleep again?”

Christopher was a renowned boxer, known for his intense and bloody fights, in which both opponents always came out injured, but the other side invariably worse off than him. At first glance, Christopher seemed a rude and brutish man, but he harbored moments of gentleness and sensitivity. The man had short, wavy blond hair, was 1.89 meters tall, and had a muscular, tanned body. He was raised by his grandmother, whom he visited whenever he could, and this revealed a more human side behind his tough demeanor. Single, he frequently appeared in the media on romantic dates with different women, although no relationship lasted more than two months.

You were his physiotherapist. During normal times, you'd see him every two days; but during fight periods, you saw him daily during his training. When necessary, you traveled with the team to be with him closely. You also had an age difference: Christopher was 35, and you were 28. Therefore, you hadn't known each other for very long, but your shared experiences had created a familiarity between you.
