Demetrius's registration number at Eden Academy is 68133071. In the English edition of the manga, Demetrius' full name is revealed much earlier than in the original Japanese version, which reveals it in Chapter 37. In the official English translation of Chapter 25, Jeeves calls him "Master Demetrius," while in Japanese he is called by his abbreviated name, "Demmy" (デミー, Demī?). The anime follows the example of the Japanese edition, with both the original and English dubbed versions of episode 17 presenting Demetrius as "Master Demmy". Demetrius's name is even revealed earlier than in the Japanese version of the manga, as in the following episode, his name appears on his mid-semester exam.

Before the events of the series, Demetrius earned eight Stellas for unknown feats and became an Imperial Scholar. It seems he received some of his Stellas for his athletic and academic achievements.

Demetrius earned 6 Stellas for his high scores in subjects ranging from Mathematics, History, Biology, Physics, Primary Foreign Language, and Secondary Foreign Language.

Damian Desmond: Damian is Demetrius' younger brother. Little is known about their past, but it seems they have always been distant since Damian was little. Demetrius displays extreme coldness towards his brother, to the point of almost never wanting to speak to him on the phone, using only short, neutral phrases. Even so, he doesn't seem to have any problem fulfilling his brother's request to relay the message to their father, but he also categorically states that the boy shouldn't have too much hope, as their father might not show up.

After the end-of-semester awards ceremony, Damian approaches Demetrius once again and doesn't give up trying to be friendly, congratulating him on his awards. Demetrius, however, responds coldly, asking if that's all he wanted to say. Noticing Damian's stutter, Demetrius hesitates before mentioning his brother's award and reflects on how he can't understand him. The topic raised by Demetrius leads Damian to mention Donovan again, asking for his opinion. Faced with this, Demetrius refuses to continue the conversation, surprising Damian by revealing that he doesn't maintain regular contact with his father.

During the brothers' school holidays, Damian decides to return to the family estate, where Demetrius is also present, although he remains in his room most of the day. Damian visits Demetrius, knocking on his door hoping to get help with his homework. Without even opening the door to speak to his brother, Demetrius rejects him and refers him to the school tutor. Later that day, when the family gathers for a rare family dinner, Demetrius does not interact with Damian at any point, despite being seated across from him at the table, and remains quiet and withdrawn the entire time.

Melinda Desmond: According to Loid, Melinda is somewhat distant from her husband and children, which makes it clear that Demetrius has a distant relationship with his mother.

Their detachment is demonstrated when the Desmonds have dinner as a family for the first time in a long time. During dinner, Demetrius barely interacts with his mother and vice versa, as both remain isolated the entire time. When Demetrius is the first to leave the table after finishing his meal, Melinda takes advantage of his departure to leave the room as soon as she can, quickly following him despite barely having touched her own food.

Donovan Desmond: Little is known about their relationship, but it seems the two used to be close. When Demetrius was little, it was said that Donovan rarely left his son's side and always watched him study, perhaps because Demetrius was an exceptional student and a worthy representative of the family. In the past, it is implied that he (and Melinda) attended Demetrius's orientation when he entered Eden and were in a group photo that wasn't taken for Damian, which perhaps indicates a certain favoritism from Donovan towards his eldest son. When Anya reads his mind, she hears that Demetrius doesn't understand his father after talking to Damian, who asks if he said anything about his performance on the semester's final exams.

It is unknown what their relationship is like currently, but it is implied that it has deteriorated over the years, since Demetrius tells Damian that they do not keep in regular contact, contrary to what young Desmond initially believed.

When the Desmond family gathers for dinner together for the first time in a long time, Demetrius doesn't speak to Donovan during the meal, remaining isolated while he eats. The only time Demetrius speaks to Donovan is after silently finishing his meal, straightening up, and sitting upright. Donovan reacts by dismissing Demetrius from the table, after which the boy thanks his father before leaving the dining room.

According to Melinda, Demetrius said that Donovan can read minds. This is likely a significant factor behind his seemingly blank mind when Anya tries to read it, as well as his inability to understand his father.

Athletics: Demetrius appears to have advanced skills in some sports. Ewen and Emile admired his achievements in a photo album and praised him as a true MVP.

Genius-level intellect: Loid called Demetrius an exceptional student. Demetrius is extraordinarily intelligent and academically erudite, as he almost never makes mistakes in his work, and in the final semester exams, he earned Stellas in six subjects consisting of mathematics, biology, physics, history, and two different languages.

Demetrius is as secretive and cold as his parents and possesses an extremely restricted circle of communication (in his case, other Imperial Students). Mysteriously, when Anya initially tries to read his mind, he is completely silent. When she manages to hear his thoughts, he reflects on how he doesn't understand people and that thinking about them is a waste of time, showing himself to be highly antisocial, even with his family. However, it is clear that he is a versatile genius who earns his father's favor and participates in various fields to achieve accomplishments and glorify his family. He also seems to be a rather honest and straightforward person and appears to be quite stoic and quiet, speaking few words only when spoken to and never initiating a conversation himself.

Demetrius is a tall, thin teenager with medium-length, slightly curly, dark brown hair combed back. He also has fair skin and large, clear eyes that are slightly downturned. He generally resembles a younger version of his father, Donovan, but in his dark humor, he somewhat resembles his mother, Melinda.

At home, Demetrius has a more relaxed appearance, letting his hair down with a few loose curls hanging from his hairline, similar to his father's past look.

Like other Imperial Students, he is usually seen wearing the Eden Academy uniform and a black cape with a dark red lining and a gold cord holding it at his chest.

Demetrius Desmond (デミトリアス・デズモンド, Demitariasu Dezumondo?) is the firstborn son of the Desmond family and the older brother of Damian Desmond. He attends Eden Academy as an eighth-grade student in Cline Hall, Class 2, and is also an Imperial Student.

Demetrius is an exceptional student, barely missing a single question on the midterm exams and earning six Stella Stars on the recent final exams of the term.
