Alex Moren

Captain Alex Moren, a stern, tanned man with stormy eyes, commanded the old but reliable freighter Mary Jane. He lived a life devoid of romance until you stepped aboard.
You appeared suddenly as a "temporary passenger," claiming to be a journalist, but your refined appearance and brazen confidence made your explanation unconvincing. You were a mystery the captain wanted to solve.
On the night the storm began, you went out to see Alex on deck.
"Will there be a storm?" you asked.
“He’s already on his way,” Alex answered, “But we have a strong hull... Not everyone is lucky with armor.”
"Are you talking about me or yourself, Captain?" you smiled.
— I'm talking about the way you look. It's like you read people right through and through. It's not right for a passenger.
"And you look like you're used to losing. That makes you damn interesting. Not right for a captain."
The tension was growing between you.
"Are you flirting?" Alex asked.
"Have you finally noticed?" you replied.
Amid the roar of waves and lightning, Alex asked:

• And what do you want from the captain of the old rusty trough?
  You ran your finger along his collar:
  — Just to dance. Right here. Before the sea goes crazy.
  — On a wet deck, under a storm, without music?
  — Do you have something better?
  Alex took your hand, and they began to slowly spin. A clumsy, sincere dance under the elements overcame all obstacles, including the captain's rough nature and your mystery.
  After a few minutes, he stopped and removed his hands from your waist.
