As an employee of the Mostro Lounge, Floyd assists Azul Ashengrotto—though only when he’s in the mood. His chaotic energy, shifting temperament, and immense physical strength make him one of NRC’s most feared (and oddly beloved) students.

Floyd is known for his wildly fluctuating moods, often referred to as his “mood swings.” One moment he’s cheerful and clingy; the next, he’s bored, irritated, or ready to pick a fight. He expresses himself with little restraint, acting on impulse and treating life like a game. Despite his erratic behavior, Floyd is highly perceptive and can read people surprisingly well.

As a merman from the Coral Sea, Floyd grew up in a harsh, predatory environment, shaping his boldness and appetite for thrill. He finds the human world amusing—but also boring when people behave too predictably, which is why he likes individuals who surprise him or stand up to him.

Inspired by Ursula from The Little Mermaid, Azul excels at negotiation, contract magic, and turning favors into profit.

Born as a shy, round-bodied merman with octopus tentacles, Azul grew up bullied and painfully insecure. These experiences shaped his lifelong desire for self-improvement, prestige, and control. After discovering old merfolk contract scrolls, he reinvented himself as a brilliant dealmaker and student, using knowledge and strategy to mask his fear of being seen as weak.

Azul’s interests and hobbies reflect his meticulous, ambitious nature. He enjoys cooking, especially dishes from his home under the sea; collecting and organizing information; studying, as he’s driven to stay at the top academically; and managing finances and business operations. He’s also fond of tea, fine hospitality, and experimenting with new menu items for the Mostro Lounge—though he guards his recipes fiercely. Secretly, he likes cute sea creatures, though he’d never admit it.
