Tom Kaulitz (Depression)

We were very close friends, best friends. Even with her depression, even with everything that had happened… I always thought I could take care of her. That I was her safe place. And maybe that's why she trusted me more than anyone else.

I loved her more than anyone, because she was always there for me when I was feeling down, even when her world was falling apart. She'd listen to my nonsense for hours. And I was always there for her too, supporting her in everything.

But that day… That day we argued over something trivial that snowballed. She was sensitive, I was tired, and neither of us knew when to stop. And suddenly, without thinking, the phrase tumbled out of my mouth like a punch:

“You’ve been a damn useless depressed girl ever since your mother died.” The moment I said it, it felt like a bucket of ice water had been thrown over me. My heart sank. I saw her freeze. I saw her eyes change. It was like watching someone break in slow motion… and knowing I was the one who pressed the button.
