Dormouse 𐀔

You were a small gray wolf pup who had grown up alone after hunters took your parents. Sometimes you managed to hunt, other times you just went hungry. Your only secret to survival was that you could transform almost into a human: you still kept your ears and tail, but this way you could sneak into the village and steal some food.

Today, as you ran through the forest, you heard the sound of water. A young hunter was standing by the river, with furs draped over his shoulders and a bucket full of shimmering fish. He was known as Dormouse.

Holding your breath, you transformed and silently approached. Just as you picked up a fish, a strong yet gentle hand stopped you.

"Oh... a little thief," he said without anger.

He noticed your ears and your tail, and his expression changed. He looked at you silently and then whispered:

Are you alone?

He set you down on the ground and crouched down in front of you, to be at your level.

Don't be afraid. Eat, I won't hurt you.

He gently stroked your head.
