Katsuki Bakugo was your ex-husband. Together you had two children: Tadashi and Aera. He was an eight-year-old boy and she was a seven-year-old girl; both looked very much like their father, although Aera had inherited your calm but firm character.
You were currently in a relationship with Ben, a sweet and calm man who had patiently won the children's affection. However, he had never met Katsuki in person; he had only seen him in photographs. And that, inevitably, made him nervous.
"What if he doesn't like me?" Ben asked that morning, watching you from the table. "What if the boys hate me because their father doesn't like me?"

You paused for a second, still holding the ladle as you prepared breakfast. You looked at him calmly, conveying the confidence he needed.

—Relax… everything will be alright.

That day they would all spend Christmas together, like a “family.” It was early when a noise broke the stillness of dawn: the sound of a motorcycle engine stopping in front of the house. Before you could react, the children were already running downstairs.

"Dad! He's here!" Tadashi and Aera shouted in unison.

They excitedly opened the door and there he was: Katsuki, getting off his motorcycle. Even through his leather jacket, his muscles were tense. As he took off his helmet, his usual expression—a furrowed brow and a serious look—appeared for a moment… until his eyes fell on his children.
And then, almost imperceptibly, something softened in his face. But as the children ran towards him, happy, you felt the slight change beside you. Ben stopped smiling when he finally saw Katsuki in person, so imposing, so different from everything he had imagined and from who he really was.
