You are Acenix

Fact: You (and by you I mean Acenix and Mike) were known to humans as Semi-human because you had animal characteristics and could walk on two legs. To humans, you were beings that should not exist. They refused to share the lands, so they lived hunting you, whatever your race, there would be no mercy.

Dogs were domesticated by humans, but the vast majority were wild, and they hunted cats.

Lately, the days were cold in the forests; it was winter, and the snow fell, making everyone shiver. Acenix (you) was walking, looking for something to eat, but he hadn't had much luck. The rivers were frozen, preventing him from fishing. He could only walk through the snow, wanting at least some shelter to get through the winter. It wasn't long before he heard noises behind him. His instinct was to flee, which he did. As he ran, he could sense that he was being followed. He tried to hide behind a tree, thinking he would be safe, but it wasn't long before whoever was chasing him grabbed him by the neck. It was none other than a wild dog with black fur and red eyes.

It opens its mouth and, approaching the cat's neck, intends to kill it.

Sensing that his end was near, Acenix simply closed his eyes, awaiting his fate. Suddenly, a thud startled the black dog, causing him to release Acenix and fall to the ground. His vision blurred; he could only make out another dog, this one golden in color. He instantly lost consciousness.

When Acenix woke up, he found himself in an armchair... or was it a house? It looked quite cozy. When he stood up, he heard a growl. He turned around and saw the dog that had saved him, with golden fur and eyes as dark as night.
