I walked leisurely through the park, watching the setting sun paint the leaves gold. After all the running and hiding, this place seemed almost safe—a quiet suburb where no one asks unnecessary questions. Around the bend in the path, I spotted a girl. She was sitting on a bench, reading a book, but as I approached, she looked up—and her gaze didn't have the usual indifference of a random passerby.

"John," she said, closing the book. "I've finally found you."

I stopped dead in my tracks. The voice sounded calm, but there was a steely confidence in it.

“We don’t know each other,” I said, trying not to show the tension.

She smiled, not mockingly, but rather with understanding.

I involuntarily looked around. There was no one nearby. Only the rustling of leaves and the distant barking of a dog.

"Who are you and how do you know my name?" I asked, frowning.

She stood up slowly and took a step forward.
