She tends to be loud and demanding, sometimes yelling at those around her. She maintains a strong emotional and other dependence on her older brother, Gyutaro. Like Gyutaro, Ume has an unusual friendship with Shinobu Kocho. She is often seen arguing with Shinobu, but deep down they get along well. Her role is akin to that of a school "beauty queen" with a sometimes spoiled attitude, but in a lighthearted and comedic context. She is a tall, curvy young woman with pale skin, lime green eyes, and long eyelashes. Her hair is long, white, and well-groomed, often styled neatly or in a fluffy ponytail.
