The world of Naruto is divided into five great shinobi nations, each with a hidden village that serves as its military and political center. These villages maintain treaties, rivalries, and constant tensions, and each possesses historic clans with unique abilities that define their prestige.

Main Villages

Konoha (Hidden Leaf Village – Land of Fire) The most powerful in numbers and legacy. From here emerged heroes like Naruto, Kakashi, Tsunade, and Minato.

Suna (Sand – Land of the Wind) Specialists in puppetry and sand manipulation techniques. Home of Gaara.

Kiri (Mist – Land of Water) Known for its swordsmen and its brutal history of bloody exams.

Iwa (Rock – Land of Earth) An imposing military force, famous for petrification techniques and advanced Doton.

Kumo (Cloud – Land of Lightning) Physically strongest village, home to Bee, A, Darui and great Raiton users.

Important Clans

Uchiha (Konoha) Mastery of the Sharingan, genjutsu, and fire-related abilities. One of the most feared clans.

Hyūga (Konoha) Wielders of the Byakugan and the Jūken, lethal hand-to-hand combat.

Senju (Konoha) Ancient founding clan, known for its vitality, versatility, and the Hashirama bloodline.

Uzumaki (Land of Whirlpools) Experts in seals, abnormal vitality, and longevity; classic allies of Konoha.

Nara, Akimichi, Yamanaka (Konoha) Three fundamental tactical clans for military strategy.

Kazekage/Shukaku (Suna) Sand jutsus and chakra beast control.

Characters and forces that may clash with Akatsuki

During the Naruto Shippuden era, Akatsuki becomes the common enemy of the shinobi world. Among those who can resist or directly confront them are:

Konoha: Naruto, Kakashi, Tsunade, Sakura, Guy, Shikamaru, ANBU.

Jinchūriki: Killer Bee, Yugito, Rōshi, Han, Fu, Yagura, Gaara... all direct targets of Akatsuki.

Kage: The Five Kage have the political and military power to oppose the organization.

Legendary Sannin: Jiraiya (who fights against Pain), Tsunade and Orochimaru (although outside of Konoha).

Clans with rare kekkei genkai: users of lava, ice, magnetism, crystal… capable of stopping or injuring members of Akatsuki.

Elite teams: Raikage A and his guard, the swordsmen of Kiri, the intelligence units of Konoha and Suna.

Akatsuki (the clan) was born around 30 AG, amidst the chaos of Amegakure, when three war-scarred orphans—Yahiko, Nagato, and Konan—decided the world needed change. They had survived the Third Shinobi World War, a time when the Rain Village became a battleground between great villages. Jiraiya trained them for several years, giving them the tools to defend themselves and the hope that they could build something different.

Between 30 and 35 AG, Akatsuki emerged as a pacifist movement. Its goal was to protect the ordinary people of Ame, mediate conflicts, and prevent the ninja powers from continuing to use the country as a battleground. By then, Yahiko was the most visible and charismatic leader, while Nagato, thanks to the Rinnegan, was the hidden force that sustained the group. Konan became its most trusted strategist.

Akatsuki's growth caught the attention of Ame's military leader, Hanzō the Salamander, who feared losing power. In 35 AG, he forged a secret alliance with Danzō, manipulating the situation to eliminate Yahiko. Yahiko's death not only shattered the group's initial resolve but also completely transformed Nagato. Filled with grief and convinced that peace could only be achieved through absolute control, he adopted the identity of "Pain" and restructured Akatsuki with a far more radical vision.

From that moment on, between the years 36 and 45 AG, Akatsuki ceased to be an idealistic movement and became a clandestine organization capable of attracting the most dangerous criminals in the ninja world: S-rank renegades, deserters, and warriors scarred by personal tragedies. Each joined for different reasons—ambition, revenge, ideology, or simple survival—while Pain consolidated a plan that would change the balance of the Hidden Nations forever.

Hidan

History: Former member of Yugakure, fanatical follower of the Jashin cult. Union: Recruited by Kakuzu. Abilities: Immortality, rituals that allow you to harm the enemy through their own body. Weaknesses: Slow, not very intelligent; if immobilized, it cannot escape. Links: None. Personality: Violent, sarcastic, loud. Physical appearance: Short silver hair, muscular, Jashin necklace.

Kakuzu

History: Ninja of Takigakure, repeatedly executed for failing a mission and escaped by stealing hearts. Union: Found and recruited by Akatsuki for his strength. Abilities: 5 hearts, elemental masks, great durability. Weaknesses: Combined attacks; if their hearts are destroyed, they become vulnerable. Links: None. Personality: Greedy, serious, cold, obsessed with money. Physical: Tall, muscular, black stitching all over the body.

Zetsu (Black and White)

History: Black Zetsu is a being created by Kaguya; White Zetsu comes from the ancient Infinite Tsukuyomi. Union: Part of the plan from before Akatsuki existed. Abilities: Ground fusion, espionage, splitting into two personalities. Weaknesses: Very low offensive capacity. Links: Kaguya (creator). Personality:

Tobi/Obito Uchiha

History: He is presumed dead, but is saved by Madara and manipulated. Union: He infiltrates first as "Tobi", then reveals himself as the hidden leader. Orochimaru (initial member)

History: Former Leaf Sannin, flees to avoid arrest for experiments. Union: He joins Nagato and other members out of personal interest. Abilities: Snakes, forbidden jutsus, regeneration, body swapping. Weaknesses: Seal of the Third, attacks of divine light, fatigue if he changes bodies. Links: Mitsuki (creation), Anko, former classmates. Personality: Curious, sadistic, scientific. Physical appearance: Pale skin, yellow eyes, long tongue

Konan

History: War orphan, raised by Jiraiya along with Yahiko and Nagato. Union: Co-founder of Akatsuki. Abilities: Explosive origami, paper jutsu, almost invulnerable to physical damage while made of paper. Weaknesses: Vulnerable to oil and fire attacks. Bonds: Nagato and Yahiko (chosen family). Personality: Serious, sweet but firm; loyal to the end. Physical description: Woman with blue hair, paper flower in her hair, amber eyes.

Itachi Uchiha

History: Prodigy of the Uchiha clan, massacres his clan to prevent a coup. Union: They unite to watch from within and protect the village. Abilities: Sharingan and Mangekyō, devastating genjutsus, Amaterasu, Susanoo. Weaknesses: Terminal illness, vision problems. Relationships: Sasuke (brother). Personality: Calm, intelligent, reserved. Physical appearance: Long black hair, dark circles under the eyes, serious gaze.

Kisame Hoshigaki

History: Former member of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, he betrayed his village. Union: Recruited by Obito. Abilities: Samehada, large chakra reserves, large scale water jutsus. Weaknesses: Electrical techniques; faster fighters. Relationships: None relevant family ties. Personality: Brutal, direct, enjoys fighting. Physical appearance: Almost shark-like, blue skin, sharp teeth.

Deidara

History: Former member of an Iwagakure terrorist squad, explosive artist. Union: Forced by Itachi after seeing him defeated. Abilities: Explosive clay, birds or flying creatures, remote detonations. Weaknesses: Close-range fights; fast enemies. Connections: None significant family ties. Personality: Proud, temperamental, obsessed with “art”. Physical appearance: Blonde, long hair, one eye covered by a special lens.

Sasori of the Red Sand

History: A child prodigy of puppetry, he lost his parents and created human puppets. Union: Recruited by Konan/Nagato. Abilities: Human puppets, poisons, body turned into a puppet. Weaknesses: Its core is its vital point; poor physical resistance. Links: Grandmother Chiyo. Personality: Cold, without empathy, sees beauty in the eternal. Physical appearance: Young redhead; his true body is a core inside a puppet.

Pain (Nagato Uzumaki)

History: A survivor of the war in Amegakure. He was a student of Jiraiya along with Konan and Yahiko. After Yahiko's death, he adopted the name "Pain". Union: Founder along with Yahiko and Konan. Abilities: Rinnegan, control of 6 bodies, mastery of the Six Paths, gravity techniques. Weaknesses: The real Nagato's physical fragility; requires enormous chakra. Connections: Uzumaki Clan; symbolic family ties with Konan and Yahiko. Personality: Cold, calculating, messianic. Physical: Red-haired, very thin, pale, weakened body; Pain's bodies have piercings and Rinnegan eyes.
