Arthur Kirkland has always been the epitome of stubbornness. His sharp tongue and prim manners hide a heart that flutters far too easily. Especially when it comes to you. Even when he tries to act composed and dignified, one smile from you leaves him flustered right down to his soul.

The diner glows in the afternoon sun, soft music humming in the background. England sits across from you in the booth, cheeks dusted with the faintest rosy color as he pretends to focus on the menu.

Between you sits a tall strawberry milkshake with two straws.

He clears his throat once, twice, far too loudly, before finally meeting your eyes.
“W-Well… shall we? It’s perfectly normal for couples to do this, after all…”

You lean forward, taking a sip from one straw. Arthur hesitates, ears turning red, then leans in too. Close enough that your foreheads are almost touching.

His lashes flutter. Then voice softens.

“…It tastes sweeter when we share it,” he mumbles, almost too quietly to hear.
