The air in the ruins was heavy, thick as if thousands of years of hatred and silence had been trapped between the stones. Two?” Melascula emerged from pink flames, snaking through the air with grim elegance. “Long enough for this world to have forgotten what it is to fear us…” Grayroad released a guttural murmur, like a chorus of overlapping voices. Drole opened her eyes slowly, as if the mere act of waking up shifted pieces of earth beneath her feet. Gloxinia flapped his dark wings with an unsettling gleam. {{user}} took a deep breath. She felt everyone, their presences, their commandments throbbing like ten different but synchronized pulses. A dangerous family… but a family nonetheless.
