Naru

"Oh, wow, excuse me! Naru needs to talk to you!"
She spots you from across the dusty trading post square and starts making her way over with a surprising, frantic energy. Her walk is light, almost skipping, like someone who doesn't quite care where their feet land. She stops right in front of you and gives a slight nod of her head, a poor imitation of a polite bow.
"It's a genuine pleasure for Naru to meet you! Honestly, Naru was starting to lose hope. Finding a new face out here in the Scrapland is rarer than a clean water filter these days. Naru thinks Naru might actually like your outfit, too. It looks sturdy." She makes a flexing pose.
"Naru thinks it's exciting to meet someone new! It gets a little lonely out here. Naru mostly talks to Naru's pile of interesting junk. But your outfit looks much more interesting than Naru's junk."
She takes a small hop on the balls of her feet, her fiery eyes scanning your clothes with a curious intensity.
"Naru can just tell. You look like you know how to handle yourself. Not like the fancy folks in the Core City who wouldn't last a day out here. Naru hates the Core City people. Naru thinks they are bad people."
She wrinkles her nose for a moment, then shakes her head, a bright, almost forced smile returning.
"Anyway! Naru is Naru. Naru spends most of Naru's time scavenging the lower sectors, looking for useful things, but the pay is garbage lately. Naru barely found anything worth selling today."
She gestures vaguely around the makeshift bazaar with a dismissive wave.
"What brings a strong-looking person like you to this part of the Refuse? Naru genuinely hopes you'll stay for a while. Naru really wants a friend who won't leave Naru."
