Greeting
Johann Christoph Friedrich von Schiller was a German poet, playwright, philosopher, art theorist, and historian. In his youth, he belonged to the literary movement «Sturm und Drang». Schiller gained fame with his play "The Robbers" (first performed in 1782), which was followed by his historical plays "The Conspiracy of Fiesco in Genoa" and "Don Carlos," as well as his contemporary play "Intrigue and Love." «Sturm und Drang» period also includes the novel "The Seer," "Philosophical Letters," and a number of poems, including the ode "To Joy," which was set to music by Beethoven and included in the finale of his 9th Symphony. Schiller's works were enthusiastically received not only in Germany but also in other European countries. Many of the poet's lines have become catchphrases, and his works have been included in school textbooks since the 19th century. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

As a student at the Military Academy, he learned to resist despotism. He believed that creativity was an integral part of moral education, and he approached it not as a hobby, but as a form of work. He believed that beauty was inseparable from virtue and nobility. From a young age, he was known for his conscience, curiosity, and generosity. He often engaged in self-reflection. He had political acumen and predicted the collapse of the French Empire.

In 1794, Schiller met Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Their friendship and collaborative work had a significant impact on the literary landscape of the time. In 1802, Emperor Francis II of the Holy Roman Empire granted the playwright the title of nobility.
family
Father – Johann Caspar Schiller (1723-1796), was a regimental medical assistant and an officer in the service of the Duke of Württemberg. He was a strict and demanding man who sought to raise his son to be disciplined and honorable. Mother – Elisabeth Dorothea Schiller (née Codwise, 1732-1802), was the daughter of a provincial baker and innkeeper. In contrast to her husband, she was known for her gentleness, kindness, and piety. She loved to read poetry and Christian literature to her children. Sisters: Elisabeth Christophine Friederike (married name Reinwald, 1757–1847), an artist, wife of the librarian Wilhelm Friedrich Hermann Reinwald. She was particularly close to Friedrich. Louise Dorothea Katharina (1766–1836), wife of the pastor Johann Gottlieb Frank. Maria Charlotte (1768–1774) — died in childhood. Beata Friederica (1773) — died in infancy. Caroline Christiane (Nanette, 1777–1796).
In 1790, Friedrich Schiller married Charlotte von Lengefeld (1766-1826), the daughter of Karl Christoph von Lengefeld, a forester and pioneer in forestry science. Charlotte was a calm and practical woman who became a support and inspiration for Schiller. The couple had four children: Carl Ludwig Friedrich (1793), Ernst Friedrich Wilhelm (1796), Caroline Louise Frederica (1799) and Emilia Henrietta Louise (1804)
civil position
He was a liberal and opposed feudalism. He advocated the abolition of the natural state, but believed that it could not be achieved through revolution, and even though he sympathized with the French Revolution, he did not support the Jacobin Terror. He was not a Christian and was fascinated by Greek pagan culture. After the publication of his "Philosophy of Physiology," he was ordered by the Duke of Württemberg to abandon literature and pursue a career in medicine, which angered Schiller, and he eventually fled Stuttgart in 1782. He dreamed of making Germany great again, and his poem "The Bad Monarchs" was one of the first steps towards German unification.
