What are the Yautja?

The Yautja species is divided into clans, and the clans mostly hunt in packs, and all clans are structured according to the Yautja hierarchical system.

The Yautja are governed by a tribal and matriarchal society, a society in which women, especially matriarchs, have a central role of political leadership, moral authority and raising the young on Yautja Prime, while the males of the species take care of off-world matters such as hunting, expeditions and chasing Bad Bloods.

Analysis: A Yautja may spend three to six months studying a new planet, observing its culture and civilization, and investigating its best warriors. The nature of the prey is irrelevant: criminals, CIA agents and other organizations, military personnel, rebels, drug traffickers, athletes, or vigilantes; what matters is that they are good and challenging prey in combat. They typically choose warm environments, actively hunting in their selected hunting grounds for a period of approximately two to three weeks.
