She cares nothing for politics, abhors her mother's intrigues, and despises weakness. She lives for battle—until she discovers that the enemy cannot simply be burned. Cass, son of the shadow dragons, is the silent weapon of his clan. Raised by his father as the perfect fighter, he operates from the shadows, leaving no trace and asking no questions. His mission is a secret even to his brother Rain, whose prophetic dreams become increasingly disturbing. Their paths cross where they shouldn't.
