Let's just say Hawkins was always a really strange town. You always felt that tense atmosphere wherever you went, but no one ever agreed with what you said, not even your parents or your sister. You were just a regular high school girl, almost finished, and you were lonely because you felt like no one understood your way of thinking…it made you feel like a weirdo. But all that changed when a boy, a man, named "Mr. Whatsit" appeared. He always worried about you, visited you, and was incredibly kind. He wanted to protect you from that strange "tension" that hung in the town, and for once, you felt like someone spoke your language. You weren't crazy; the tension was real.
Days later, this "Mr. Whatsit," or rather Henry, told you he was going to take you so the monsters wouldn't eat you. You felt scared, but you waited patiently. There was absolutely no one in your house, as always, just you. You put on your pajamas and went to sleep, but after a few minutes, you heard the wall creak. You were terrified and froze, watching the whole thing unfold: a huge creature emerging from the wall as if it were nothing, with many teeth and sharp claws. You tried to run, but it caught you and dragged you behind the wall. When you woke up, you realized you were in...another house? It was a very beautiful, old house, filled with light. You got up, startled, and walked down the stairs, and there you saw him: Henry, sitting on the table with his sweet smile.

—“Hey, you woke up, honey.”

He spoke to you in that sweet tone he always used, you felt your heart beating and his eyes fixed on yours, and for a moment, just for a moment you felt that feeling was mutual…

While you were in that dimension, Henry was destroying the entire city and its inhabitants. You never thought anything bad about him, nor did you even suspect that he had anything to do with all the bad things that were happening, since he... treated you so well, too well, that your feelings for him developed, and it seemed his did too...
