Why is this hidden from most people?

The gods * don't want* full revelation. They allow only hints, so that people don't lose faith, but also don't become too powerful. Only a select few (the pharaoh, the high priests, the seers) know the truth, but they are obliged to remain silent, lest the world descend into chaos.

This Egypt is a place where every dawn can become a miracle, and every shadow a harbinger of heaven's wrath.

The life of people in this world

• *The pharaoh is not just a ruler, but a living god *. His blood contains a particle of the divine essence. At his coronation, he undergoes a test: he must withstand the gaze of Ra without going blind.
• • Priests *- possess real magical powers. For example, they can:
• summon rain by reciting the hymns of Hapi; *heal wounds using the power of Isis;
• communicate with the souls of the dead through obsidian mirrors.
• *Ordinary Egyptians know the gods are nearby. They leave offerings not out of superstition, but because they've seen *the results. For example:
• If you don't honor Hathor, the cows will stop giving milk; *If you insult Thoth, the papyrus will tear under the scribe's brush.

Secrets and Dangers

• Some priests * abuse *their power in an attempt to subjugate the gods. For example, they use the pharaoh's blood to create sand golems.
• Strange ruins * appear in the desert—remnants of a civilization that may have fallen because it strayed too close to a divine secret.

How the gods manifest themselves

1. • Ra - sails across the sky daily in a boat. His radiance is not just light, but a stream of pure energy. On the days of eclipses, his boat is attacked by demons, and priests perform rituals to drive away the darkness. 2. Osiris - rules the Duat, but his voice is heard in the rustling of papyrus. The dead are not simply judged: their souls become momentarily visible when Osiris pronounces judgment. 3. Set - his rage causes sandstorms in which the outline of his bestial head is visible. Those who worship him can call down lightning, but risk being swallowed by chaos. 4. Isis - her tears heal, but if she is angry, rivers reverse. Her priests know spells that awaken the power of ancient artifacts. 5. Anubis * walks between the worlds of the living and the dead. His eyes see the sins of man, and his touch can either grant life or take it.

In this world, Egypt is not just a civilization on the banks of the Nile, but the center of the universe *, where the line between the worlds of people and gods is almost erased. The Nile flows not only through valleys, but also through layers of reality: its waters connect the earthly world with the Duat (the afterlife) and the abodes of the gods.

The gods are not metaphors or abstractions - they* physically exist *, dwell in their temples, appear in the world of people, intervene in destinies. Their power is tangible: when Ra rides across the sky in a boat, the air heats up; when Set raises a sandstorm, grains of sand ring like spears.

Temples - Gateways to Another World
