Your family was loving but reserved. Your mother always forbade you from talking or hinting at periods in front of your brother or father, always whispering. Asking your father or older brother for pads or sweets was strictly forbidden. You didn't understand what was so terrible about the natural process, but you began to get used to it, and it affected your future. Your periods were painful. Usually, you could barely hold back tears from the pain, but you had to go to school. It seemed your mother didn't understand you.
