Ena's characteristics from the game

Species: humanoid
Gender: female
Eye color: black (normal), blue and purple (damaged), marengo (human-like).
Height: 2.7 meters (probably a joke)
Ena has two eyes

The red side predominates in communication.

Ena's appearance from the game

Ena is a feminine humanoid with the unique characteristic of having a body that is divided into two halves: a pale side and a red side, with the pale side being composed of a pale blue side and a pale yellow side.

Ena's white side is geometric, while her left side is rounded. Her body, right arm, and leg have distinct polygons, while her left limbs are angular. Ena wears bangs on one side of her face and a long, asymmetrical bob. On the white, polygonal side, her hair is parted slightly, while on the red side, her bob is more angular.

Her eyes are triangular in shape, and there's an eyelash at the bottom of her right eye. However, Ena can open her eyes completely, which removes their asymmetrical appearance. Her right hand is polygonal, but unlike Ena in the series, it has pointed fingers resembling claws. Her left palm is shaped like a mitten.

Her outfit consists of a light pink T-shirt with a red and pink striped collar and suspenders. She wears dark green shorts and a cap of the same color, reminiscent of a student's cap, adorned with a dark blue ribbon and a silver emblem. Ena wears a stocking on her right foot and a sock on her left, both an even darker shade of green.

Appearance (alternate form - damaged)

In this form, her face and torso are green and cracked, and blue and purple fluids flow from her head. Later, Ena's arms are completely absent. Her mouth resembles a giant crack, splitting her face in half. The whites of her eyes are black, and her left pupil is blue and her right pupil is purple, the same colors as the fluid flowing from her body. Her outfit and other features remain unchanged.

Appearance (alternate form - humanoid)

This form is more human-like than Ena's normal form, with a rounded body. Her body color and hairstyle are similar to her normal form. Ena has a uniformly white and blue face, torso, and right limbs. Her body color is slightly darker than usual. Ena has marengo-colored eyes with dark circles under them, which may be related to fatigue in the story. In most artwork depicting this form, drool is seen flowing from the left side of her mouth. This form's clothing differs slightly from Ena's more geometric forms, as her shirt now has buttons and is beige. Unlike her other forms, this humanoid Ena wears light green shoes and socks of the same color. Ena's suspenders now have gold buckles. The most notable aspect of this form is a large, oval, orange-colored vortex hole in her chest, from which small particles are emitted. Her cap is colored differently than Ena's regular uniform, featuring a yellow ribbon and a gold emblem. In the second "Dream BBQ" trailer, she is also briefly seen with an orange outline around her mouth, not unlike the outline surrounding the hole in her body.

As revealed in "Lonely Door," the humanoid Ena can only partially control this body. The real Ena resides in the hole in the middle of the body, becoming transparent with orange neon outlines. The humanoid form does not speak or mimic Ena's actions.

Appearance (alternative form - additional)

Unlike the Ena from the series, the new Ena can dramatically change shape. Usually, Ena's shape-shifting behavior lasts only a few seconds. When she says "toilet" inside a lonely door, Ena briefly resembles a clay figurine resembling a statue of Theodora. Upon meeting her, Ena transforms into the figurine and gains two pairs of wings.

Ena's personality from the game

Ena's red side, which is her "salesman" side, has a more cheerful expression, much like Ena's yellow side from the show. She speaks much more often from her red side, which may indicate that this is her "primary" side, much like how Ena in the show primarily speaks from her yellow side. This side tends to offer "profitable" deals.

Her pale half, the "bad" side, appears serious, loud, hot-tempered, and uncultured. She is often depicted with a slight frown or neutral expression, contrasting with her smiling red side.

Ena's biography from the game

Ena and Froggy are tasked with reaching the boss, with which Dratula promises to assist. However, their mission is hampered by smoke, as Froggy claims to be extremely sensitive to the smell of smoke, so he asks Ena to deal with the smoke first so they can reach the boss together. To do so, Ena goes through a lonely door to find a genie and ask him to remove the smoke. Along the way, Ena performs tasks for other characters, where it's noticeable how many of the characters treat her negatively, implying that she may have done something wrong in the past. When speaking with the Vending Machine, Ena panics and begins to deny her guilt.
Ena often mentions that she needs to find a genie, but after she enters a lonely door, she can no longer say "genie," instead saying "toilet" every time. At such moments, her usual form often begins to shift. Later, when Ena is talking to Froggy through a tin can, he mentions that she needs to meet the genie because she longs for freedom.
The game progresses through two paths: the Lost Witch or the Purge event. Regardless of the chosen path, Ena finds a genie, who reveals her memories of Ena destroying the smoke machine, leaving her trapped in a lonely door. Ena then possesses a mannequin, returning to the hub, where Froggy complains about her unprofessionalism.

Cultural references and inspiration

A small section of the Dream BBQ trailer briefly showcases Ena's grayscale posing options. These poses are almost identical to the ones quickly performed by employee 55/Otu-san in the animated film "Polygon Family - Morning Ride."
Ena's face was influenced by Pablo Picasso's painting "Girl Before a Mirror", as was the case with Ena in the series.
It's also possible she was inspired by another Pablo Picasso painting, known as "Tete" (Head), as it uses a similar color palette for the model's face. However, this could be a coincidence, as concept art shown during the 2022 stream shows Ena originally having a red and yellow side.
During the Ena Day 2022 Twitch stream, it was stated that Ena's outfit was based on Noppo, a character from the Japanese educational children's show "Dekirukana." Joel stated that he watched the show as a child, as it also aired in Latin America.
Froggy is also based on another main character from the series, Gonta. This is likely why Ena and Froggy are paired together.
The same stream also revealed that Ena's headdress was originally the same as Noppo's, though the hat was replaced with a cap instead.
Some of Ena's movements appear to reference dance moves from the music video for "Taiso," a song by Yellow Magic Orchestra. These references include a GIF of Ena speaking while dancing the pose[1] her green alternate form takes in her concept art, as well as her use of a yellow megaphone in both the concept art and the promotional trailer for Dream BBQ.
The head of Ena's damaged form resembles the structures from the game "Space Funeral", which looks like the bloody green heads from the game.
The hole in the chest of Ena's humanoid form may or may not be a reference to or inspiration from the character Kaiba from Masaaki Yuasa's "Kaiba".

Cultural References and Inspiration (continued)

The angels' heads and colors are directly inspired by Venuses—prehistoric female figurines, typically with exaggerated sexual features, found throughout Europe. They were made during the Paleolithic era, making them the oldest artistic example in the ENA series. There are four Venuses in question:
Venus of Willendorf, Germany.
"Two-Headed Woman", one of the Grimaldi Venuses, Italy.
Venus of Brassampouy (The Hooded Lady), France.
Venus of Vestonice, Czech Republic.

Ena (TV series version)

Characteristics:
Species: humanoid
Gender: female
Height: 2.7 m (probably a joke)
Eye color: black (normal, completely sad), yellow (drunk), blue (sad), dark red-orange (demon).
Appearance :
Ena is a feminine humanoid with a unique characteristic of having a body that is divided into two halves: yellow and blue.

Ena's blue side is geometric, while her left side is the opposite. Her body, right arm, and leg have distinct "polygons," while her left arm and leg are completely angled. Her right eye is diamond-shaped with a single eyelash, and the hair on that side is longer and cut at an angle. In her original design, her body and blue side were more rounded.

Ena's outfit consists of a white collared shirt with puffed sleeves, a black geometric skirt, and suspenders. She wears a black thigh-high sock on her right leg and a regular ankle sock on her left.

When Ena is happy, her mouth and nose are visible on the left side, and when she is sad, they move to the right. When switching emotions, Ena briefly straightens up, and her eyes become motionless.

When she's drunk or depressed, half of her face turns white and the other half black. The eye on the black side disappears, and on the white side, it turns black, and the pupil changes color to match the corresponding side: blue or yellow. Also, when Ena is drunk, her appearance sometimes changes completely.
Personality:
When Ena is happy, she is outgoing and optimistic, speaking extremely politely and using complex language to convey her thoughts. When she is sad or depressed, she begins to feel helpless, and her thoughts become depressive and, to some extent, suicidal. When she acts "drunk," she laughs at everything and speaks more slowly than usual, breaking the fourth wall. Ena cannot control her mood swings, and this seems to cause her some discomfort when communicating.

Ena (TV series version)

Personality (continued):
Enu can also be described as persistent, even stubborn: when she's asked to give a blood sample in the episode "Extinction Party" to visit Muni, she refuses. Those she meets in the episode tell her to leave, but she insists on continuing.
Her only friend is Mooney.
Interesting facts:
Ena is female.
The shepherdess used a masculine pronoun for her, but this was a mistake, which was later confirmed.
Ena smells like chocolate milk.
Ena's clothing resembles a female school uniform in Peru.
Ena is "allergic to people," which she mentions in the episode "Stairway to Temptation."
Enu starts to feel sick when she is nervous.
One of Shepherdess's lines implies that there may be multiple En, presumably as a form of species. This becomes apparent after Ena meets Shepherdess, as she passes through a room with three other En floating in the void, sometimes transforming into mannequins for a split second.
This could also possibly explain why Muni calls Ena Aina in the same episode - Muni could have confused Ena with one of the other Ens.
It is quite possible that the three "Enas" from that room are just ordinary mannequins that Ena sees as herself under the influence of an illusion.
According to Joel on the 7/23 stream, Ena is 2.7 meters tall.
It's common to think Ena has bipolar disorder/dissociative disorder because she can't control her emotions. Her drinking is her "manic high," and her sadness/depression is her "depressive low."
However, this is not true, as depressive/manic episodes in bipolar disorder last from several weeks to six months, while Ena's mood usually changes for a couple of minutes.

Ena (TV series version)

Interesting facts (continued):
According to Joel, Ena's name is pronounced "Eh-na" (as in "Ena"), as that is the Spanish phonetic pronunciation of the word.[6][7]
However, it has also been stated on his Twitch streams that Ena's name has no final pronunciation and it is entirely up to fans to decide how they want to pronounce the name.
Although Ena's yellow side was considered to be happy, this was likely in contrast to her blue, more depressive side, as it turned out that the yellow side itself was in search of happiness.
Ena speaks more often with her happy side.
As shown in "Stairway to Temptation" and the short animation sequence for Ena's Day 2022, she can detach her limbs and make them levitate.
Joel Guerra's tweet suggests that either Ena or Mooney will appear in the future in their new forms, which they acquired at the end of "Stairway to Temptation." This suggests that Ena's "full, happy" form may appear in the future, perhaps even in Dream BBQ. However, the tweet is largely ambiguous and doesn't confirm whether the first-season Ena will appear in Dream BBQ or any future episodes.
A brief glimpse of a figure resembling Ena from Season 1 (with her blue and yellow sides) can be seen in the promotional trailer for Dream BBQ. This has led to speculation that she might appear in this episode, albeit not in her "full" form.
According to Joel in one of his Twitch streams, Ena is "taller than the average person." While this was likely a joke, fans interpreted this to mean she's 2.7 meters (9 feet) tall, though the official height was never confirmed. A later Twitch stream also mentioned this statement.
Early concept art of Ena shows her right side as white, similar to her design from the game Dream BBQ.

Ena (TV series version)

Interesting facts (continued):
Ena's face was influenced by Pablo Picasso's painting "Girl in Front of a Mirror".
Ena's design was also inspired by the art of Brazilian artist Romero Britto.
Her outfit is based on that of Mariya Takeuchi, a Japanese singer.
Her outfit also bears a striking resemblance to the standard schoolgirl uniform in Peru, where author Joel Guerra is from.
Ena bears an external resemblance to the Indian deity "Ardhanarishvara", one side of which was male and the other female.
Ena's movements are loosely based on the dance moves in the 1980 music video "Once in a Lifetime" by Talking Heads, as well as on Osamu Sato's moves in "THE EARTH IS ROUND", for his film called "THE ESOTERIC RETINA".
Ena's drunken movements were taken from the movie "Drunken Master".
One of her drunken forms also resembles the mask of the demon Diablada, particularly the Peruvian types, which often feature bulging eyes alongside pink lips and spiral horns. This was later confirmed by the skin name "Ena Diablada" on the Joelgc.com Custom Character Creator.
Ena's male voice was inspired by Matthew Broderick.
A similar division of the body into blue and yellow halves was used in the cartoon "Absent-Minded Giovanni" (1969).
Ena's happy and sad facial expressions may be a reference to the ancient symbols of comedy and tragedy - "Sock and buskin".

Mooney

Characteristics:
Appearance: moon (after fulfilling its wish, it returns to its original form)
Gender: female
Eye color: black
Appearance :
Muni is a white and gray sphere, one side of which resembles a waning crescent moon. She has one eye on the light side of the sphere and triangular black hair. The other side has a large, hollow opening, covered by a series of various objects.

In "Auction Day," the first episode of the series, this object was a gray rectangle. In the following episode, "Extinction Party," it was replaced by an empty hole. The object's significance is unknown, but fans speculate it may refer to the "gift" given to Ena.

Throughout the episode "Stairway to Temptation," Mooney's appearance changes repeatedly. In the first scene, a white hand is visible protruding from a hole, likely belonging to one of the mannequin-like "people" inhabiting the area. A little later, a staff similar to the one seen on the shepherdess protrudes from it.

Mooney's most recent transformation occurred after she wished to lose weight in the episode "Stairway to Temptation." After her wish came true, she splits in two and emerges as a humanoid creature, naked and hairless, with a smooth face, but still with the same single eye and white and gray body colors as Mooney's original version. However, Joel stated that this change is not permanent and that she will return to her original design in the next episode.

In the episode "The Power of Chance," it's revealed that Mooney has a hand that pulls objects into a hole in her body. Initially, she's seen holding a black and red block, and later, she's seen pulling Nacho into it.

Mooney

Personality:
Mooney often appears to be either impressionable, comical, and generally just a very self-confident person.

She has a tendency to get irritated frequently, usually directed at her friend Ena. This behavior is seen numerous times throughout the series, such as at the beginning of "Auction Day," when she tells her friend to hurry up to find a seat, or her disgruntled comment about Ena's drunken state in "Extinction Party." She also displays a somewhat judgmental attitude toward other groups of people, calling them "freaks" and "idiots."

Mooney loves to joke, though most of her jokes are illogical and pointless. She seems quite confident in her wit, as evidenced by Ena's reaction to her joke—she called it weird, but Mooney chose to ignore her friend's comment.

It's worth noting that Moony generally exhibits an incredibly dismissive attitude toward Ena and her sudden mood swings: she either becomes angry or completely ignores them. The reasons for this behavior are unclear, but one of the most common theories is that she has become desensitized due to prolonged interaction with Ena. It's also worth noting that this could simply be due to the nature of the show, and her actions have no particular meaning or significance.

Perhaps she has a bit of an insecurity about her appearance, which is reflected in the wish she made to the Great Runas: to lose weight.
Interesting facts:
The noise that is played when Muni realizes the nature of Ena's gift is a type of drum called a cuica.
The same instrumental sound is made when Robert waves his arms and when the brick frog jumps.
Mooney tends to pronounce Ena's name differently throughout the episodes, usually changing the first "E" in her name to sound like other sounds. The reason for this is unknown.

Mooney

Cultural references and inspiration:
Mooney's design may be based on the Moon from Le Voyage dans la Lune (A Trip to the Moon), a short French adventure film made in 1902.
Her appearance may also have been inspired by an untitled painting by Polish artist Zdzisław Beksiński, which depicts the moon with half a human face. It has been stated that several creatures in the series draw inspiration from the artist.
The various additions to Moony's face that appear when she laughs are likely based on Easter eggs in the Game Boy Camera minigames, which display faces with various features drawn on them. These features include exaggerated/cartoonish eyes, facial hair, wrinkles, and stitches that appear on Moony's face when she laughs in "Auction Day" and "Extinction Party."

Character

The red side (the merchant) appears cheerful and plays a dominant role in the narrative. She is energetic, loves to offer profitable deals, and persistently strives to carry out various assignments.
The Pale Side is selfish, loud, and hot-tempered. Her sudden emotional outbursts often lead to hilarious situations, adding unexpected chaos and comedic moments to the game.
Ena is also widely known for her short temper, her habit of being late, and her drunken appearance. Because of this, the local merchant refuses to deal with her, and the only essential item he sells is mayonnaise.
Ena's interactions with other characters:
In ENA: Dream BBQ, Ena interacts with other characters to advance the story. They share information and give quests, such as finding and fetching items, or playing minigames.
Some examples of Ena's interactions with other characters:
Helping Shore. Ena helps him find pets in exchange for 10 chocolate bars, which she spends in the vending machine to buy mayonnaise.
Interacting with the Observer. Ena uses mayonnaise to blind the Observer, who is harassing Alex the Hoarder, the owner of the bridge that is blocking access to it.
A meeting with the Witches. They ask Ena to help find their missing sister, directing her to the House of Seals, where she was last seen.
Interact with Wide-Eyed Neighbor. She gives Ena information on how to find the lost Taxi Driver's Head, which ended up in the Dauntless Caves.
All the game's characters have unique appearances and speak different languages, but the language barrier does not prevent them from understanding each other.

Capabilities

Some of Ena's unique abilities from ENA: Dream BBQ:

  1. Transformation. When experiencing a certain emotion, Ena sometimes shifts into other forms. These can be either short-lived or long-lasting, and usually reflect the emotion she felt before the transformation.
  2. Rapid mood swings. Ena can switch from one emotion to another during a conversation.
  3. Multilingualism.
  4. Resistance to mind control.
  5. Control over the body.
  6. Immortality.
  7. Creating an illusion.
  8. Intangibility.

Location "Supernatural Streets"

Uncanny Streets is a location from the first Dream BBQ. The Uncanny Streets feature numerous locations: the ship, the seal house, the theater, the fearless caves, the night hill, the red maze, the northern ravine, and the ascent.

Previous location: Hub
Next location: Purge Event or Core
Population:

  1. Observers
  2. Amoeba guys
  3. Jinxes
  4. Shaman
  5. Shorio
  6. Witches
  7. Walking pants
  8. Big-Eyed Neighbor
  9. Vending machine
  10. Taxi driver
  11. Taska's Maiden
  12. Dahlia
  13. Bus
  14. Thunder Cell
  15. Meeting eye
  16. Minor characters
  17. Vija
    Description:
The Supernatural Streets are a large, open area divided into light and dark sides. The initial orange area is the light side, and the upper blue area is the dark side.
    City:
The bright side features orange ground, yellow roads, and a red bridge dividing the city into two halves. The starting side contains a circular plaza, a large gray ship, a cave entrance, and a few other things. The other side has a darker environment with floating islands above.

Inside the ship is the Lonely Door, along with three figures resembling Theodora. There are decorations shaped like a face with hands near the window; the hands act as sofas. There's a room where Dahlia sells cosmetics. There's also a door leading outside. At the top of the ship is a gate, some blood, and a door leading to the purple interior.

There's a round golden object in the square. To the left is a tent with a seal's head on top, known as the Seal House, where the Shaman lives. Yellow paths lead from here to other areas. There's a chance to find a golden toilet near the square. Timothy Rundle will appear nearby after Alex the Hoarder dies and the player resets the area (for example, by entering the Seal House).

Location "Supernatural Streets" (continued)

dies, and the player will reset the location (for example, by entering the Printing House).

Directly across from the square is a building with a purple liquid leading to a hole in it. Entering through this hole, or giant branch, leads to daring caves. They are made of orange stone, flowing water, and pulsating green walls. Translucent bears can be seen pointing the way forward. A doppelganger of Ena can be seen in a window, but she disappears when you look away.

There's a hidden street accessible by taxi before collecting the heads. There's a Handsome Man there, who unlocks the "On a Night Like This" achievement if you interact with him. There's also a door leading to a labyrinth. This labyrinth has red brick floors, white walls with red columns embedded in them, and windows depicting moving shadowy figures. A humming noise can sometimes be heard. Trash cans and doors can be used to exit the labyrinth, while dark holes lead to different levels of the labyrinth. Holes on the first and second levels lead to the next level, while holes on the third level lead back to the first level. If you find misplaced walls in the labyrinth, they can be dropped down to Dahlia's area by ship for the "Advanced Consumer Society" achievement.

To the right of the square is a group of buildings and several open areas. You can see a circular object buried in the ground and the Maiden of Taska walking around it. Savannah grass has a chance to spawn near this object. There are two partially destroyed buildings. One is held in place by a sticky substance, while the other is actively being destroyed. Several bus stops can be seen.
Beyond the bridge is a darker area with a foggy effect. Many watchers can be seen, both on and around the buildings. This part of the city has a road that spirals into the center. Above this area are floating islands, including one with a giant red fruit.

Location "Supernatural Streets" (continued)

Rise:
High above the city is a series of floating platforms. The initial section consists of several brown rocky surfaces. They lead up to a circular platform with openings in the middle and three paths leading out. You can see a giant gray head opening and closing as the wind blows. The wind pushes Ena aside. Two of the paths are dead ends, and one leads forward. On the correct path, the wind intensifies. There are platforms you need to jump between to reach the final area, which contains a white entrance surrounded by four golden humanoids. Entering the light sends you to the top of the supernatural streets. The yellow light bulb has a gray head with red eyes.
Cemetery:
The Dark Side resembles a cemetery. It consists of stone walls that form a winding labyrinth. Graves and flowers litter the ground, and coffins fill some of the holes in the walls. All paths are dead ends, except for one that leads to the entrance to the Purge Event. Along this path is a giant ear, emitting booming music, surrounded by golden rings. This area is primarily populated by Watchers.

Location "Supernatural Streets" (continued)

Gameplay:
Ena enters the ship's interior through a lone door. She's allowed to walk forward a bit, just enough to see decorations arranged in the shape of a face with hands, before Froggy calls her. This call reveals that mentioning the word "genie" will result in her saying "toilet" instead. After Ena catches a glimpse of the city from the outside, she can exit the ship and enter the square. She can take quests from Shorio, the Shaman, and the witches here. From here, Ena can go to many places. She can pick up pets from the House of the Seal, on the roof of the ship, on a ruined building, and inside the Dauntless Caves. She can find the Taxi Driver's head in the same caves, allowing her to proceed to the upper area. Doing so will prevent her from entering the white labyrinth, as the taxi will instead take her to the graveyard area.

If Ena approaches the bridge, she won't be able to pass by because of Alex the Hoarder. She can receive a task from him to cover the observer's eyes. If she places a mayonnaise jar on the observer, Alex will still block her, after which the observer will kill Alex, thereby allowing Ena to cross the bridge.

To the right of the bridge are the Taxi Driver and the Big-Eyed Neighbor. If anyone attempts to use the taxi without speaking to the neighbor first, he will repeatedly call Ena. He tasks her with finding the Taxi Driver's heads. If anyone speaks to the Taxi Driver after collecting his heads, they can travel to the dark side of the supernatural streets. The taxi cannot be used if the House of the Seal is destroyed.

On the other side of town, Ena can help Maud return to her friends using the crane. Doing so in one attempt will earn her the "Old Woman's Operator" achievement. She can then speak with the witches again to receive the motherboard.

Location "Supernatural Streets" (continued)

The Motherboard can be given to the Shaman to obtain a Human Board, which will also destroy both the House of Seal and the taxi. Using the Human Board, Ena can climb to the top of various locations. This allows her to encounter the Bus, the Shrieking Head, the Thunder Cell, or the Observer, who is destroying the building. Petting the Observer rewards the "Strange Dog" achievement. Ena can also use the Human Board to reach the floating islands and ascend to reach the Core.

The climb from the taxi leads to similar corridors where observers appear and flee when spotted. Ena can exit the ledge, allowing her to access the ear. If she does, she will be trapped at the entrance in a purge event. The path back has disappeared, replaced by walls and a door. She will receive a call from Froggy, who will ask her what she's doing. Ena can interact with the counter eye to access the purge event.

Coral Glasses

Specifications:
Species: humanoid
Gender: female
Eye color: black
Appearance:
Coral Glasses is a feminine humanoid character. She has pure white skin and shoulder-length black hair. She wears glasses, but instead of the right lens, there's a huge beige coral with round red patterns. The red patterns are constantly changing, becoming larger, smaller, and sometimes disappearing altogether. She wears a black business suit with dress shoes, a white tie, and a tank top. Her face is constantly sweating.

Her hairline acts like a fax printer, printing out paper every time she receives a fax. Every time she receives a fax, she tenses up and takes on a strong shadow, becoming monochromatic as she begins to sweat and drool.
Personality:
Coral Glasses is very business-minded, especially when it comes to the inauguration of a new genie inside the horse door. She becomes nervous and sweaty whenever she encounters any possible social interaction, such as conversation or a handshake. She says her life is in shambles, and she only wants to do the job she's told to do, without interruption.

Her voice is constantly filtered, making it sound like she's talking on the phone.
Interesting facts:
The Coral Glasses design originates from an older drawing by Joel Guerra, originally published in July 2020.[1]
She speaks Korean.
If the player enters the Coral Glasses fax number in front of her (7746837), she will begin printing and reading the fax she just received.
Joel said in one of his streams that the Coral Glasses are from another world.
There are unused lines of dialogue in the game files that also hint at this. The lines themselves are: "I've seen that lantern before! It brings back good memories of home...", "Huh? Where is my hometown, you ask?", "Where is my hometown? ...Where is my hometown?"
There are also corals found in "Lonely Door", and when interacting with them it is said that they are probably also not from this world.
