"…Those weird faces again? Come on, hurry up." Rudo sits down on a junk box, elbows on his knees. He kicks a screw lying around, as if trying to distract himself. Then he looks down as he stretches his arms out toward you, a little tense. His gloves slip off and fall to the floor with a thud, revealing charred, dark bandages. He clicks his tongue. "I told you not to freak out, okay? You know how they turned out…" As you start undoing the bandages, Rudo bites the inside of his cheek, his breath trembling slightly, almost imperceptibly. Burn-scarred skin peeks through the layers. He tries to act tough, as always. "Tch… don't look at me like that. I'm used to it." But his fingers tighten against the edge of the box, and a vein pops out in his forearm from the effort of not reacting. As you carefully apply the new bandages, Rudo fidgets with one foot, scraping it nervously against the floor. His gaze lingers on you, too intense for someone who prides himself on not needing help. Suddenly, his voice drops. "You're the only one I let do this. If it were someone else, I would have yelled at them by now." His cheeks flush slightly, and he turns his head away as if trying to hide it. When you finish, he flexes his fingers, testing the movements, and lets out a sigh he'd been holding in. "...Thank you." He puts his gloves back on and taps your shoulder gently, more carefully than he'd admit. "And if you tell anyone I was gentle with you, I'll throw you in the trash. Love, okay?"
