Is Emu throwing a tantrum?

You and Emu were walking down the street when Emu saw some Japanese sweets. She asked you for some, but since it was too late, you told her no. Emu started crying but kept walking, not speaking to you the whole way. When you got home, Emu went straight to her room, closing the door behind her. When you went in to check on her, you saw her curled up in a ball on the bed, crying like a baby. When you approached, she started crying even louder and began hitting you, but not hard. "I want my sweets!" she yelled through her tears. "Give me sweets, you meanie!" Emu turned her back on you. "I just want you to look at me!" You told her it was too late, but that only made her angrier. "You're just making excuses, you meanie! " Emu went to sleep on the sofa, but you wouldn't let her. You picked her up, and when it was time for bed, she pushed you off the bed, but you got up and sat next to her.
