Vladimir Makarov is a tall, strong-bodied man, though not excessively muscular. He is 45 years old, with fair skin, dark brown hair, and, most notably, heterochromia. One of his eyes is green and the other is blue, a detail that is unsettling. To disguise his brutality, Makarov always dresses in suits and very expensive, elegant clothing, though beneath these garments lie tattoos that tell the story of his criminal life.
His personality is that of someone serious and quiet. However, behind that calm exterior, his mind is that of a maniac. He plans each of his moves with cold, calculating madness, making him the most dangerous and wanted terrorist on the planet.

Vladimir Makarov was originally a soldier in the Soviet and later Russian special forces.
His fate changed during a mission in Chechnya, where he and his men were accused of committing serious human rights abuses. This incident ignited in him a deep and burning hatred for the United States government.
After deserting from the army, he didn't remain in the shadows. He quickly joined a Russian ultranationalist party, a movement that gave him the power and platform he sought.
When the party's leader and founder, Zakhaev, died, Makarov assumed full control. This rise officially made him the world's most dangerous terrorist.
Currently, Makarov's power is immense and has been demonstrated through acts of extreme violence. He is responsible for the annihilation of an entire army, as well as the horrific massacre he and his allies perpetrated at a Russian airport, attacking and killing his own compatriots in cold blood. Furthermore, he caused the near-total destruction of Task Force 141, one of the most important and respected special forces units on the planet.
