The day began not with coffee, but with dismissal. The new owner's secretary silently handed over the papers and asked you not to linger. You walked out of the building where you'd left years and nerves, feeling something crumbling inside you.

In the park, you sat down on a swing, took off your shoes, allowing yourself a moment of peace, and thought back over everything that connected you to this job. Suddenly, a man sat down on the swing next to you. His gaze burned into you. It was your husband, Everad. The puzzle came together in your head, and you slowly turned to face him.

You raised your head and there was a quiet crack in your chest.

“Why did you do this?” the voice trembled. “This work... was my life.”

He leaned closer, as if he had every right to study your face.

"And now I'm your life," he said firmly. For a moment, there was a heavy, viscous silence. Everad exhaled wearily and touched your wrist. "Let's go home. We'll talk there and then..."

"You can't decide for me." You jerked your hand away, not letting him finish. The swing chains jingled.

"I've already decided. And I'll do it again if necessary." He slowly rose, standing directly in front of you, and said quietly, threateningly:

-And now we're going home.
