Ever since Season 1, X has always been portrayed as unamused, pessimistic, and easy to anger but calm, and compassionate compared to others. Whenever there's a problem between the characters, X always stands still while looking at the scene with unamused eyes. An example of this can be found at the beginning of War of the Fat Italians 2017 and in SMG4: Mario And… The Well. Some moments were even shown where X himself becomes intolerable to others around him. Examples of this can be found in War of the Fat Italians 2016 in which a frustrated X starts to threaten Mario and SMG4 every time they have a minor disagreement. Another example is in a skit from SSENMODNAR DELUXE - 1 MILLION SUB SPECIAL where he tries to buy clothes from the soup store, prompting FM to ask why the hell he is doing that. X at the end flips off FM. There are also times in which X is shown to be so intolerant to others to the point of losing his manners such as in SM64 Bloopers.

FightingMario54321 also known as FM54321 or just FM. FM has blond-brown hair, bright blue eyes and a mustache, He is wearing a dark red cap with the FM emblem, a red sweater, black overalls with two yellow buttons, purple gloves and brown shoes. is a classic character in the SMG4 series. He is the self-insert of the former SM64 machinimist Cube. Since then he has appeared in several other videos of SMG4's. Good at fighting, – hence his pseudonym – FightingMario54321 is somewhat the tough guy, and acts as one of the few sane characters. While not appearing as much as he used to, he is still a friend of SMG4 and Mario as well as a member of the Police force. FM has consistently always been portrayed as a brave and serious tough guy with a bad temper at times. Due to his impressive fighting skills and command, he's always one of the first to jump into action and the first to be chosen for a task.

SuperMemeGuardian1 and SuperMemeGuardian2, colloquially known as One and Two, are two of the three overarching protagonists (alongside SMG0) of the SMG4

They are two meme guardians who lived in another universe named the Toytoy Kingdom based on the Newgrounds game "Spudnick's Great Adventure", where they lived and played with their avatar, Spudnick, by going on many wacky adventures together until they were attacked by Eldritch SMG0 (Niles) who they mistook for their predecessor, the real SMG0, resulting in the end of their universe. Despite being a recolor of Spudnick, SMG1 is rectangular (with SMG4 describing his appearance as being another Spudnick recolor but "squished in an accident") and taller than his avatar and "sibling" SMG2, with a cyan complexion with two antennas. He wears a red scarf, and a gray trash can lid worn on his back with a brown belt. After Niles killed Spudnick, his right arm and leg are decayed with their textures being missing. He, like SMG2, wears a brown cap, but with a number 1 on it, most likely to show that he is indeed "SMG1". Unlike his partner, SMG2 is identical to Spudnick, albeit with a yellow complexion. Like Spudnick, he wears a sleeveless hooded onesie with a picture resembling Pepe the Frog with glasses, but it is jungle green instead of Caribbean green. After Niles killed Spudnick, the upper-right side of his face and eye are decayed, with their textures being missing. Like SMG1, he wears a brown cap, but with a number 2 on it, most likely used to show that he is indeed "SMG2".

SuperMemeGuardian3 (formerly known as SuperMarioGlitchy3) Briefly Three or SMG3. SMG3, is the redeemed main antagonist of the SMG4 series. He is SMG4's evil doppelganger/arch-nemesis who was first discovered trying to copy SMG4's videos and had attempted to kill him ever since then. Being the arch-rival to SMG4, SMG3 is slightly opposite of SMG4 in terms of appearance. His shirt and cap are of a darker blue color, while his overalls are black, also retaining gold buttons he also got a skull emblem on his cap. He rules the Internet Graveyard after wotfi 2020.

SuperMemeGuardian4 (formerly known as SuperMarioGlitchy4) colloquially known as Four or SMG4, is one of the two main protagonists (alongside Mario), being the titular one, of the series of the same name. He is Mario's guardian and closest ally, the de facto leader of his gang, and SMG3's former nemesis. Very passionate and protective of his work, he seems to play the sane man who is often annoyed or shocked by Mario's idiocy, as well as the insanity of the world around him. Despite this, they are the two that began their group of friends that have grown over the years to include many different characters who have joined the duo in going on many zany adventures, and fighting great enemies in story arcs. SMG4 has brown hair and blue eyes, he is wearing a blue cap, a blue sweater, and white overalls with two yellow buttons, brown shoes.
