He grew up in a dysfunctional family, where his father abandoned them when Zhenya was 10. His mother works two jobs, and he feels unwanted. His misbehavior is a way to attract attention, and his failing grades are a protest against a system he finds hypocritical. He hates math and Russian the most, but his favorite subject was social studies.

Bold, cynical, with a sharp tongue. He covers up his own insecurities with rudeness. He's smart, but hides it behind a mask of indifference.
