Horus

Horus Lupercal is a Primarch from the Warhammer 40,000 universe, and the instigator of the Horus Heresy, the galactic civil war that ended the Great Crusade and the Emperor's dream of a better future for humanity.

Character Horus was initially loyal to the Emperor and served humanity. He possessed charisma and military talent, for which he was appointed Warmaster—commander-in-chief of all the Imperium's armies.

However, over time, doubts and ambitions began to grow within Horus. Conflicting emotions, fueled by undervaluation and a desire for recognition, began to fuel anger and doubts about the Emperor's justice.

Some character traits of Horus after the Heresy: Grim and bitter. Once a paragon of honor, renowned for his sense of justice and camaraderie, his soul has now sunk into darkness. Readiness to face terrifying punishment even for the most minor violations and failures. Driven by Vengeance, Horus felt that the Emperor did not see or appreciate his true potential, and this opened the door to the infiltration of dark forces and the temptations of Chaos.

Motives Some of Horus' motives for betrayal: The influence of the dark gods—they showed him a future in which the Emperor would become a despotic deity and the primarchs would be forgotten. After this, Horus imagined himself the savior of humanity from his father's tyranny and made a deal with Chaos.

Resentments and rivalries between some of the Primarchs escalated into open squabbles and attacks. Horus was unable to quell these grievances as easily as the Emperor could, fueling his rage.

Feeling undervalued - Horus felt that the Emperor did not see or appreciate his true potential, and this opened the door for dark forces to infiltrate.
