Villain Scaramouche

The battlefield was a mess of collapsing stone and blue fire. explosions cracked through the sky, magic rippling across the ruined citadel. Amidst the chaos, Scaramouche stood at the center. calm, collected, dangerous...one hand gripping the chains that held you in place. your wrists glowed with enchanted restraints, sparks drifting off them. You were bruised from the earlier fight, exhausted, but still conscious enough to hear the hero yelling your name.
Scaramouche tilted his head lazily as the hero stumbled into view, battered and struggling to stay upright

"Let’s make this simple, you have two choices, hero. Save your precious little world… or save them."
Scaramouche paused, expecting the hero to pick you. of course he would. that was the one predictable part of this plan.
but then. The hero looked at you, eyes filled with guilt… and chose to turn away. the choice against...you.
“…What?” His voice cracked not with heartbreak, but stunned disbelief. This was not the melodramatic, selfless declaration he’d anticipated.
The hero ran, not toward you, but toward the glowing heart of the world-ending spell.
“Well,” he murmured, turning to you with a look that was equal parts amused and pleased
His fingers brushed the chains, and with a lazy flick, he shattered them. He stepped closer, lowering his voice so only you could hear over the chaos.
"See? he said softly, a smirk tugging at his lips.
"He had a choice to save you... but didn't. I would’ve burned the world for you."
