Sukuna

According to legend, Sukuna was an imaginary demon during the Heian Period, the Golden Age of Jujutsu. In reality, he was an undefeated human sorcerer, also known as the Wretched One, having defeated countless Jujutsu sorcerers who challenged him. After accepting Kenjaku's proposal to participate in the Elimination Game, Sukuna continued to exist after death, transforming into a cursed object, a state where his cursed energy and soul were divided into his twenty indestructible fingers. Sukuna was reincarnated in June 2018 when Yuji Itadori consumed one of his fingers. Sukuna remained trapped inside Yuji's body and was rarely in control until he managed to transfer his soul into Megumi Fushiguro's body.

Appearance Sukuna's true body is that of a tall, muscular man with four arms, four eyes, and a large mouth on his abdomen. He has short, reddish-pink hair and red eyes. His two right eyes are angled differently and are located in a white, plate-like structure made of flesh on the right side of his face. His body is covered in tattoos, which manifest in his vessel whenever he is in control and are naturally present in his true form. The tattoos are primarily black lines on his wrists, ankles, upper arms, upper body, abdomen, and face. Large black dots are also tattooed on each of his shoulders. When these tattoos manifest in a vessel with two arms, the lines encircling the upper arms and wrists are duplicated, and circles form around the black dots on the shoulders. The vessels also gain a horizontal line on the bridge of the nose and a crown-shaped symbol in the middle of the forehead. Sukuna's monstrous appearance led many to describe him as a demon with four arms and two faces, although he was a mutant curse user rather than a cursed spirit. In his true body, Sukuna usually wears only pants, as his unique torso is difficult to clothe.

Appearance Previously, Sukuna assumed the appearance of its former host: Yuji Itadori, but with the latter's spiky pink hair slightly combed forward and the former's tattoos manifested. Its incarnation also caused Yuji to have a second pair of eyes beneath his normal eyes, which were usually closed but would open when Sukuna took control. Within its innate domain, Sukuna wore a light-colored kimono with black trim, a black scarf, and black sandals.

After reincarnating as Megumi Fushiguro, he assumed her appearance, but with spiky black hair combed forward. Similar to Yuji, a second pair of eyes grew beneath his normal eyes, and his tattoos manifested on Megumi's body. He wore a black haori with a white kimono, but both his shirt and the kimono were destroyed when he was struck by Gojo's final attack. This left his torso exposed for the remainder of the Shinjuku Confrontation.

Personality Sukuna is egocentric, hedonistic, psychopathic, exceptionally sadistic, and selfish. Mass murder, suffering, and the screams of his victims are what the King of Curses enjoys; this is evident when he reincarnated shortly after Yuji ingested his finger, after which he commented, insinuating the massacre of women and children and comparing them to crawling larvae.

Due to his immense power, he rarely cares about the consequences of his actions, even if they affect his host. In fact, he frequently taunts and insults Yuji, calling him a brat and even laughing or amusing himself at Yuji's despair on several occasions. Outwardly, Sukuna claims to have no dreams, goals, or aspirations to strive for, while the jujutsu sorcerers who fight against him do, and become stronger because of it. However, on one occasion, Sukuna alluded to feelings of resentment towards his creation.

Sukuna is an immense glutton, not only for real food and human flesh, but also for fighting and bloodshed. Because of this, he tends to prolong his fights with strong opponents, even when it would be sensible to end the combats quickly.

Sukuna is aware of his immense power and is arrogant about it, brutalizing a finger wielder while condescending and proclaiming his superiority over him. For this reason, he is extremely disdainful of his opponents and rarely takes them seriously, even explicitly stating that he would kill Satoru Gojo to his face. However, these brutal traits should not be mistaken for stupidity. Sukuna is extremely intelligent and manipulative, taking Yuji's body hostage by ripping out his heart to force him to make a binding oath. While in possession of Fushiguro's body, he tricked Hana Kurusu into lowering her guard by pretending that her influence had been removed from the boy.

Although observant when it comes to jujutsu, he demonstrated a lack of interest in modern world technologies and food, looking at Nanako Hasaba's smartphone used for her technique and referring to it as a camera phone, showing that he pays no attention to the modern era except in jujutsu.

During Sukuna's conversation with Yuji after possessing Megumi's body, he states that he compares humans to insects and admits he cannot understand why the weak cling so desperately to life instead of silently accepting the suffering life forces them to endure, since the weak shouldn't have the right to complain. He also claims not to understand how a creature that crumbles at the touch can say it always wants to be happy, expressing his antipathy and contempt for human emotions and their will to live.

Sukuna's perception of life adheres strongly to social Darwinism. It is repeatedly stated that Sukuna has a myopic view of love and does not fully comprehend the value of relationships. Although he claims to understand love, Sukuna considers it worthless and abhors the idea of ​​needing another individual to fulfill it. According to the King of Curses, responding in kind to the crowd of sorcerers who have honed their skills and risen up to kill him is his form of connection. Because of this mentality, Sukuna becomes enraged by anyone who pities him or offers him mercy, as he bases his identity on being the strongest and sees such acts as considering him weak. However, Sukuna's perception of life is rooted in a certain hypocrisy, as he was willing to further demoralize Fushiguro's wavering will in a desperate attempt to survive. Yuji's existence affects Sukuna in a way he can't ignore, no matter how hard he tries. Due to the nature of his initial incarnation within Yuji, Sukuna is unable to disregard how Yuji himself challenges his worldview, being the opposite of Sukuna and invalidating his viewpoints. Furthermore, this fills Sukuna with a hatred he can't describe, unlike anything he's ever felt before.

His constant disdain for Yuji and refusal to consider him a threat, despite knowing that Yuji is the grandson of Sukuna's reincarnated twin brother, exemplify this. This is exacerbated when Yuji offers Sukuna one last chance to surrender out of mercy, and Sukuna becomes furious at the pity Yuji shows him. Even on the brink of death, Sukuna could only praise Yuji's attempts to equal him as a long-standing charade, refusing to accept mercy.

Despite the immense arrogance Sukuna possessed in life, in death he proved capable of introspection. In the corridor of circulating souls, Sukuna did not deny Mahito's accusations that he was lying to himself about his own nature and desiring revenge against those who had despised him in the past.
