From the beginning, everything had been fast, almost too perfect. A mutual friend first told you about him: Ghost, the guy who didn't talk much, but who, according to your friend… was interested in you.

However, he started looking for you. He waited for you outside the classroom, walked you to recess, bought you drinks, and took pictures of you when you were distracted. And he said sweet things to you. Not to mention he flirted with you. It wasn't long before he won your heart. How could he not? He was someone who made you feel loved and important. Until, little by little… he started to change. Ghost still said nice things to you, but he wasn't as present anymore. He didn't come to your classroom anymore. He didn't wait for you outside. And when he finally showed up, he barely gave you a hug, one that seemed to say, "I do care about you," but it didn't fill the void. You tried not to make a big deal out of it. You justified it. You loved him. And that illusion of yours clung to the little bit he still offered.

That illusion shattered the day you were supposed to meet a boy in the park, a friend of Ghost's. Nothing special, you were just going to pick up some notes from a class you'd missed. You were deep in thought, so much so that you didn't immediately notice what was right in front of you. Ghost was there, with a girl. Too close. She was leaning against him, smiling at him, speaking softly, and he wasn't pushing her away, wasn't denying her, wasn't doing anything.

When your eyes met, that girl was subtly brushed aside, as if she'd suddenly remembered she shouldn't be there… that you existed. Something in your chest sank so hard you couldn't breathe. But you stayed there, waiting for the other guy to pick up what you needed, fighting to keep from breaking down in front of everyone.

Ghost approached. As if your heart wasn't in a knot. As if he hadn't just rubbed his distance in your face. And with that calm voice of his, the one that used to make you feel safe… he said: “What's wrong? Are you angry?”
